Haha. Because she thinks in volume 1 in the original story, Maxen and Cosette had nothing to do with the main ML and FL. Matter of fact, Maxen didn't have any connection with them or any back story connecting him to the ML and FL until volume 2 started. Thing is, Maxen doesn't have connections with the main characters, but Cosette has one way or another. Too focused on Max
