The Reaction

Meanwhile, just as Lorien was making a secret deal with Makima and Kishibe, the world's different countries were boiling like an ant's nest in response to the events that had occurred in Japan.

After all, the last time such widespread destruction occurred, it originated in one country before swiftly escalating into a global-scale crisis.

At that time, the casualties inflicted by the Gun Devil were so immense that the use of guns and even discussions about it were banned worldwide.

So, with a similar event seemingly unfolding once again, governments, devil hunters, and even normal people around the world couldn't help but raise their guards up, bracing themselves for the worst-case scenario.

However, thankfully, before their worst fears could come to life, events took an unexpected turn for the better.

There, at the center of it all, a golden paradise emerged, presenting an otherworldly view.

Such was the transformation that occurred once the thunderous clouds that had shrouded the sky dispersed.

A towering golden tree surrounded by alternating small celestial bodies, and a simulated starry sky stretching above covering the beautiful and diverse landscape below.

Truly, it was an awe-inspiring sight that looked as if it was directly plucked from a dream.

However, what captured the world's attention was neither this breathtaking scenery nor the field of golden flowers that had swiftly spread across the battlefield, covering the traces of the previous battle.

Instead, their focus was completely on the ongoing interaction between Lorien and the two devil hunters.

"Damn it, is there no way to make out what they're discussing?" Stated the President of the United States of America, his nerves evident in his tone.

"Sir, we've attempted to utilize several devils with specific powers, but whenever they're instructed to explore that area, they simply refuse, seemingly overcome with fear; It appears that something is preventing them from approaching that place." Reported one of the advisors.

Hearing this, the president paced back and forth nervously as he observed Lorien talking to Makima and Kishibe.

For someone eager to see Makima dead as soon as possible, the possibility of her potentially gaining more power was unbearable.

Heck, if the Nukes Devil hadn't been devoured by the Chainsaw Man and its concept suppressed, discussions about launching a nuclear strike to end things once and for all would likely have already begun.

"This is only his clone, correct? His main body is still at the center of the field." The president questioned, seeking confirmation.

Upon hearing the inquiry, the individual in control swiftly zoomed out before refocusing the feed on Lorien's true body, seated comfortably with his back against the towering golden tree as he placed his sword across his lap, continuously absorbing the energy within it to replenish his reserves.

In contrast to the cloaked appearance Lorien had while conversing with Makima, here, his features were fully visible.

The only concealed feature was his eyes, which remained closed as from an outsider's perspective, he appeared to be resting or asleep.

"So he is the cause behind all of this..."

"..."

Meanwhile, just as this was transpiring in the United States, similar scenes were unfolding in different countries around the world, each grappling with their own reactions and concerns.

Most notably of which were the Soviet Union, Germany, and China which all wanted to see Makima's demise by any means necessary.

However, the most violent reaction came from Quanxi and her harem, who, like all other devils, promptly received a warning message from the world, warning them to steer clear of that zone.

Receiving this message, Quanxi's group, currently situated in some sort of control room alongside the general who ruled the country, exchanged glances, silently confirming their shared experience.

'Danger, Danger...'

'What's going on with the world.'

'However, it's none of my business.'

'The secret to leading a happy life in this world is that ignorance is bliss.'

'I should simply not get involved in stuff like this.'

However, just as Quanxi was thinking about how to leave the place before being tasked with investigating the situation, Lorien's main body on the screen suddenly moved.

*Swish*

His eyes snapped open, a small smile visible on Lorien's face as he raised his head towards the sky, staring directly in the direction of the satellite in outer space.

As strong as Lorien currently is, he has become more and more sensitive to other people's surveillance, even if it is through technological means.

It's just that the moment this happened, various groups stationed in control rooms worldwide couldn't help but flinch instinctively, feeling shivers coursing down their spines in response.

From their respective viewpoints, it appeared as though Lorien's gaze pierced through the screen, meeting the eyes of each individual in the room, and causing them to feel an intense sense of pressure.

However, luckily for them, this was short-lived as the feed abruptly cut to darkness, only to be replaced by a recorded video featuring Lorien's discussion with Makima and Kishibe, along with his detailed introduction and explanation of the Dream Path power system.

Doing this, Lorien lowered his head once again feeling quite satisfied.

'That's like hitting two birds with one stone, I suppose.'

'Not only did I disable their surveillance, but I also spread information about the Dream Path."

'All that remains before I can wrap up for the day and observe the subsequent events unfold is finalizing my deal with Makima and Kishibe."

Thinking of this, Lorien redirected his focus to controlling the clone-like energy image he had created, addressing Makima and Kishibe once more.

"So, do you agree?"

"..."

"..."

Upon hearing this, Makima and Kishibe exchanged glances before responding with their own question.

"For each one?"

"It depends on the quality."

Descending into silence, the two devil hunters appeared lost in contemplation, mulling over the proposition before finally offering almost synchronous responses.

"It's a deal."

"Alright then, agreed."

Upon hearing their response, a grin involuntarily crept across Lorien's face, concealed beneath his cloak, as he replied before waiving his hand, teleporting the two devil hunters out of this zone.

"I'll be waiting for you, don't disappoint me."
