FIERY NIGHT--3

Kai forced my head out of the crook of his neck to reveal a constellation of tears pooling in his eyes before his voice cracked, "If you guys are late for my class tomorrow, even by a millisecond, I will be rooming away from you two for the next five days. If not, then I will come back to stay in our dorm. Is that a deal ?", he asked.

"You damn well know it is a deal", I smiled through my tears and kissed him hard.

However, when I leaned in for a second one, Kai turned away his head and stated mechanically, "I need to go. I can’t stay here any longer", he declared and put me down before grabbing back the car keys from me.

It would be a lie if I said that it didn’t hurt.

This was not natural !!

Nothing about these turn of events was ordinary.

Instead, my heart was already shattering in a thousand pieces as if I was losing someone I loved.

Was this break really temporary ?
