Chapter 159: Tests of Fate

Adelheid went to Anti-Entropy to get Kiana an implant so she would always know when the herrscher would break free. It would also be a locator and Adelheid will always know her coordinates.

"It seems that things are getting worse, she can't control the herrscher from the gem anymore and if what you said is true, then it exacerbates whenever she sees you or Siegfried." Lieserl sighed as she finished putting the implant on Kiana.

"Yes, I actually need to leave immediately or she would see me and I don't want to know what will happen if she does." Adelheid said with a frown as she started to walk away. She the. looked at her one last time and said goodbye to everyone.

"Ugh... W-where am I?" Kiana groaned and she felt fatigue all over her body. "Good morning Kiana, you are in Yellowstone. Things aren't good, read this. Adelheid left it for you." Lieserl have her a letter and Kiana read it. Adelheid explained that Siegfried was going on a journey and Kiana should treat Cecilia well. Not elaborating why as she didn't need to know that seeing them would make things apparently worse.

"D-dad's leaving? I-is it because of the destruction I caused again?" Kiana blamed herself and Lieserl sighed. "Technically, yes. But it's for the good of both of you Kiana." Lieserl tried cheering her up, but she just made it worse as Kiana got depressed.

She then started to think badly of herself as she has probably caused another round of chaos and destruction. Destroying everything in her wake, along with their home.

Adelheid looked at a map where Kiana was being located in real time and she nodded in satisfaction at Lieserl's work. Though Adelheid felt bad, as both her and Siegfried can't really visit Kiana.

She then got a call from an unrecognized number. "Adelheid Schariac, you are receiving a summon to Aesir HQ. Ein-sama has something for you, he said." Adelheid remembered the receptionist's voice from the past and she immediately went to Japan.

After some travelling, she arrived at the building of HQ and went inside. The receptionist then quickly lead her in and she got anxious.

"Hello, Adelheid-san. Darjeeling? It's 2nd leaf, I assure you that it is the best of the best." Ragna greeted her and Adelheid was surprised.

"R-ragna? What are you doing here?" Adelheid thought she was still the captain of the assault squad.

"Whatever do you mean? I just followed my dreams. And I'm happier than ever, I don't really think that being a Valkyrie even suits me to be honest." Ragna replied and Adelheid thought it was true.

"I guess, but Aesir huh? I approve, Ein-san is better than that blonde menace anyways. I'm glad you're in a better place now." Adelheid smiled at her and Ragna bowed in appreciation.

"He is here it seems." Ragna said and Adelheid didn't hear anything nor feel anyone. Making her think that she must have some weird Ein radar like Rita.

"Yo, good job in containing Kiana and healing Siegfried Adelheid." Ein arrived and he patted her head for a good job. Adelheid pouted at him. "I'm not a kid anymore Ein-san."

He laughed and sat as Ragna poured him some tea. "Thank you, Ragna. Anyways, the reason why I called you here is because Schicksal just received the 2nd key. They actually fought at the same time as you and my ELF is on the way back here righttt about now." A miniature droid of him entered the window.

"Yo, boss. They were pretty good, so I gave it to them. Though Ottilie Apocalypse was the only one who really passed, but it was enough." The ELF shrugged and sat down as well, drinking some tea that Ragna gave him.

"Ohh, you have the Schariac girl over here? I just received the information earlier, how are you doing kid? You seem to have matured incredibly late." The ELF was not impressed and brought down her excitement in seeing a real ELF so closely.

"Well, she was a happy go lucky girl back then. But enough of that, Adelheid I'll be giving you this." Ein took out the gem of conquest and Adelheid thought that was one of the most offensive ones. Looking at the gem and at him multiple times to make sure he was really giving it.

"What? You gonna receive it or not?" He raised a brow and Ragna chuckled at her reaction. Adelheid snatched it up and immediately put it inside her chest. Her eyes glowing violet as she received the gem of conquest.

"W-woah... I feel awesome Ein-san." The violent electricity flowed inside her body and she let it flow freely. She then atomized a small piece of her clothes as Adelheid has been studying what the herrschers could do with their powers.

"Umu, you can already use electromagnetism at a passable level. Keep it up, you might just receive some of them even earlier. And you aren't storming Schicksal as well, good observation and decision skills." Ein patted her head and Adelheid got embarrassed.

"Of course I won't storm it. You obviously aren't going to do anything and let us protect earth by ourselves. So crippling Schicksal would be a detriment. Though World Serpent is starting to move." She concluded that the cultists are moving on their own as the flame chasers don't care obviously. They can take the planet for themselves in a matter of hours if they so wish.

"Well, you probably know how humans work now Adelheid. they fight for what they believe or their principles. Some are just crazy like Mobius' followers. And honestly, if you can't protect yourselves. I might as well just take away your herrscher cores right now." Ein said with a sigh as he thought that cultists were really troublesome if they don't receive commands. And Aponia would be the same like what she did with Schicksal if you let them be.

"Thank you Ein-san. I'll reign in Kiana, I can travel much faster now too. The gem of conquest is a big help." Adelheid bowed and he gestured for her to leave.

"Don't disappoint me now. You are doing so well, now go on. Anti-Entropy must need you." He teleported to the sea of quanta and made sure that everything was in place again. As the sea has been behaving suspiciously calm.

Months passed and one Raiden Mei was answering questions calmly at her school. But she was getting whispers from the student body. Schicksal has devised a plan of attack economically at Anti-Entropy while they were busy against World Serpent. (pic)

ME corp. was a large company that encompasses most of the world. It used Selene's technology to provide energy to the largest cities of earth and was responsible for 80% of the energy that is being provided.

And Schicksal wanted its downfall. As Anti-Entropy would be crippled if ME corp. gets into a scandal. They started with rumors that they embezzled money and evaded their obviously huge taxes. And it grew like wild fire, the ignorant masses gobbling it up. Schicksal then used their influence on the media and cooked up false evidence for ME corp's crimes.

Leading to a trial that got Raiden Ryouma imprisoned. And Mei's popularity went against her as she was now being treated an outcast.

Aesir didn't do anything either as it would be too easy for Anti-Entropy and Ein believed that they could handle it. If not, then they were just not good enough. And it was already a major help as Aesir not cutting off Supergen and ME corp means that it wasn't true if you think of it logically. Sadly, ignorance is one of humanity's weakest points.

"What is she even doing here still? Isn't her dad in jail? They should be ashamed of themselves, they're already filthy rich. But they want more." One of the students whispered, though Mei still heard it as she looked down on her food that her mother cooked for her.

Their assets got frozen and Yuna decided to save up their remaining money. Deciding to just move in at an apartment and taking care of the household herself. As she did not want Anti-Entropy's money, still having pride as a mother and a parent. Awaiting Ryouma's trials to end patiently.

'How did everything come to this? ME corp. is in shambles. All my dreams crashing down to the ground.' Mei thought the world is unfair and gritted her teeth.

Her desk even having scribbles like thief and robber put on it. Showcasing the viciousness of high school girls.

'How can I repay Ein-nii with this. I might not even have a company to run anymore... And creating one from scratch will take decades for it to prosper enough to have an impact for Aesir's ridiculous influence.' Mei stewed in her thoughts. The bullying and being an outcast she could endure. But her dream burning down made her depressed.

She then continued classes as the bell rang. Completely out of it for the duration of it.

And when classes ended, she immediately went home. Returning to an empty apartment as her mother worked part time to support them.

"I'm home..." Mei sat down on a couch and sighed heavily. At her wit's end as her teenage mind didn't knew what to do next. She saw the kitchen and thought that making food for her mother was a good idea. As Yuna was working hard to provide for her in these trying times.

"I... I don't know how to. Maybe something simple?" Mei looked up recipes online and started preparing a meal so her mom can come home with and not prepare one.

Meanwhile, one Kiana Kaslana was roaming around Nagazora as she ran away from home. The guilt eating at her, being the reason why Siegfried left and the incident of her rampaging weighing on her mind like lead. (pic)

"Hah... I'm hungry, good thing Ein-nii gave me this pouch." Kiana took out skewers on her pouch and she sold some food for money as well. Relatively well off as she had no clear purpose. Schicksal just let her do her thing as Tilie didn't really need her now. While Adelheid gave Cecilia her location every time, but Kiana was slippery and would always evade Cecilia. Noticing that she must have her location at all times.

"I wonder how Bronya and the others are doing. They must be on their way to be S-rank Valkyries by now. Everything is going down to crap, I can't even see them and Ein-nii anymore." She kicked a can and it hit a gate. She then looked at the large mansion and thought that Cecilia would surely won't trespass illegally there, but she could.

"Hehe~ I think I have a place to sleep tonight." She jumped up the gates and entered the premises like a cat. She thought it must be abandoned or something as the place was too quiet.

She then saw an ornate door after roaming around and thought it must be the master bedroom. "If the owner isn't around. Then I should use the bedroom in their stead, excuse me~" She opened it and saw someone unexpected.

"Ein-nii..." Kiana teared up as she saw Ein that just took a bath after patrolling the sea of quanta. "Oya? You're trespassing Kiana. Long time no see, you're a bad girl huh? Running away from home." He patted her head and she started crying.

"Uwahhh!" She hugged him tightly and bawled her eyes out. He smiled wryly and just caressed her head. "There, there. Why didn't you come to St. Freya?" He asked and she looked down on the ground.

"I... I wanted to be the best Valkyrie at my own. Just like Rita-nee and Bianka-san. But everybody already left me behind in the dust." She gritted her teeth and her teen angst thought that they must have forgot about already.

"Hah... They've been asking for you for some time now. The girls haven't seen you in a while, honestly. This is why teenage girls are troublesome." He sighed heavily and chopped her softly on the head.

"T-they do? Hey! Do you mean I'm troublesome!?" She huffed and he nodded. He then flicked her on the forehead. "You should have at least sent them messages."

Kiana rubbed her forehead and thought that was true. But being lost in life could lead to drastic decisions and make you forget about the important people in life.

"How about it? Want to enter St. Freya with the others? They'll be really glad that you're there." He smiled tenderly and Kiana looked at him in the eyes. Beaming at the idea that she'll be able to see her friends again, along with grandma Theresa.

"But of course, I won't help you enter. You need to get in yourself." Ein took out some test questions and Kiana felt her stomach start to sink. Dreading the accursed tests.

"C-can't I just have practicals and enter with those?" Kiana asked nervously and her shook his head. Making her depressed as she hated tests to her core.

"Valkyries aren't stupid Kiana. You need to be smart to be a successful one. Even Shub and Patricia are smart even if they don't look like it. Remember them?" Ein reminded her and Kiana recalled the drunkard Patricia along with Shub that honestly looked like a muscle head.

"Yeah, yeah. I'll take it, I'll take it already!" Kiana took a pen and sat down on a table. Doing her damndest to complete the exam. And after an hour, she presented her papers anxiously, guessing almost all of her answers.

Ein just took a look and stared at Kiana. "D-did I pass?" She asked nervously and started sweating. "Hmmm, you did." Ein said with a smile and Kiana cheered. "Yeah, baby! I still got it, hehe~" She gave a peace sign.

"You passed for remedials. Honestly, how can you be this bad at studying Kiana?" Ein sighed and she got downtrodden. Thinking it was too good to be true.

"I'll enroll you in Chiba high for now, you need to study young lady. You suck ass at this, I obviously won't help you study. This is a you problem, not mine." Ein gave her an ultimatum and Kiana did an orz.

"C-can I still stay here though?" She scratched her head and asked shyly. "Well, you can. But I'm not here most of the time see? I'm a busy person you know?" He said while patting her head and she nodded with disappointment.

"Ohh, okay. I'll work hard then, I need to show them that Kiana Kaslana would be the best." Kiana hugged him again and snuggled on his chest. "Well, you better. I'll still come here regularly to visit. Do call Bronya and the others okay?" He smiled and Kiana smiled. "Un!" She then started planning to get into St. Freya high. Gaining newfound motivation in her life.
