Ye Xingguang paused, indignantly declaring, "You're the first man to ever tell me to scram. Remember that."
With that, she strode out, shooting the passing Night Jun Qing a harsh glance with her small eyes.
Night Jun Qing ignored her sharp-eyed glare, surreptitiously letting out a sigh of relief. He staggered back to the dining room, intending to pour himself another glass of water. As he picked up the kettle, however, his hand shook uncontrollably.
Suddenly, a slender hand reached over and took the kettle from him, efficiently pouring him a glass of water.
Before handing it over, the hand raised the cup to its owner's lips to test the temperature.
The affectionate gesture took him by surprise.
After confirming that the water was lukewarm, Ye Xingguang said, "It's not hot. The temperature's just right. Drink up."
From his position above, Night Jun Qing glared at the girl who had returned, his voice growing colder, "Didn't I tell you to scram?"
