Who was crazy?

In the dark surroundings, the place barely has any way to brighten the street. It was not only dark but foggy. A wisp of black as if the smoke of ghosts or grim reapers had covered the whole land. As if the whole land has worn a blanket of darkness and the sky has been engulfed by evil. The only source of light was the ball of fire that was blown by the black scale flying giant.

Alec knew if the fire touched him he would get killed right there and then. So he jumped high in the air, the fire passed just an inch away. But that was not time to be happy about it.

He started running from there, but the black dragon was way too fast in comparison to him. Like a cat playing with a mouse, before eating it. The dragon stood there magnificently looking at Alec with his golden slit eyes as he struggled to save his life.

When Alec thought that he had covered the distance and took a breath of relief. His hands were on his knees as he closed his eyes and took a few shallow breaths. When he opened his eyes to look around for an exit from this scary place, the dragon was standing right in front of him as if waiting for Alec to be scared again.

It's hot deep breaths touched his cold skin again. As the dragon walked closer to Alec. Alec could feel other noises too. He knew what it meant, the others were closers too. The beings that called them magus. He had seen them many times while hiding in the corner. Their black cloaks covered them most of the time, but Alec knew they looked like humans too.

Somewhere he always hid himself whenever a mage came closer. As if his mind was telling him that he could not disclose himself in front of them, only the dragons and other monsters knew his presence. They always run behind him, try to kill him, but he always finds a way to save himself and stay hidden too. He took out the dagger he always hid in his shoes and threw it straight in the eye of the dragon that gave a shrill cry as blood came out of his eyes.

He knew the creature was furious now and would not continue his game of chasing but go straight for the kill. If he did not do anything now, he would die here without anyone knowing about him. This was a do or die situation.

So he moved to the side and hit the wall with all his might.

"Salakraa" came from the voice of the dragon but he did not dare to turn back and see.

"What the hell?" a sharp sound was heard when he snapped his eyes open.

"Why the hell did you do that?" came the voice of the warden and then the bus stopped with a start!

All the kids were looking at him, with fear, anger, ridicule, disgust and shock.

"I am asking you, why did you break the glass Alec?" he heard the warden asking again in a stern tone. Though she had folded her hand in front of her chest and she was shouting at him, stomping her feet.

A tinge of sweat could be seen in her forehead and a mist of fear could be seen in his eyes.

Like anyone else, she was scared of Alec. and Alec knew that very well.

But after listening to her question Alec, looked at his right side, and only then did he notice that the glass of the window was smashed and his hands were bleeding profusely. But instead of getting worried about his hands or asking if he was fine. Everyone was worried about the reason for him breaking the glass.

A cold chuckle escaped his lips as he thought about it. His eyes roamed from the warden to each and every student sitting there. They all have different reactions on their faces. But hatred and fear was common among all of them.

"I had a bad dream," he explained, though he did not want to. He knew that another issue at school would give his step father another chance to beat him and punish him.

Not that he cared about it, he just did not want to see the tears of the lady that called him her son. No matter how much he tried, he did not feel any love for them but he did not want to hurt her because of him at the same time. He was strange, he knew. In the start when he used to see things, he explained them to everyone around him. But they all said only one thing.

"That it was all in his imagination." dumb fuckers!!

He could fucking feel the breath of the dragon on his skin. He could feel the touch of that slimy material in his hands and he could see the whole land of darkness. Yet they say that it was just a fucking dream!

He had tried a lot to explain them but they never understood it. So in the end, he gave up. He gave up trying to create the harmony they all talk about so enthusiastically. They all wanted him to trust them, but they never trusted him in the first place.

"Such a fucking hypocrites" he mumbled.

"What did you say? Alex, enough is enough, even if you are having bad dreams, it doesn't mean that you can break the property of school. I am sorry, but I will call your father and report this. He has to pay its expenses….." the warden continued to scold him and all the nerves of his head had started paining.

"My hands are bleeding." he whispered but his voice died down in the snort of the kids. In the gossiping of the girls at the side who were pointing at him and in the scolding of the warden.

"I said, my hand is fucking bleeding. Can't you see that? Do you even care if I live or die? All you care about the bus and its glass that was not even living in the first place and here you all call me crazy." he burst at the insensitivity of them, bringing them back to reality.
