You're it!

Nefretiri

The problem with hanging around children is this: you act like one after a while.

I should have been inside, helping everyone figure out this puzzle. Instead, I kept my promise and played tag with Millie and Zoe. It wasn't like I had no idea about the situation, but I felt useless there. They knew contacts and people they could call, but I didn't know anyone. Or, maybe I did, but I couldn't remember. So, being out here with the girls felt more productive, keeping up their morale and having fun with them. They had no friends down here, so we understood each other.

Everyone was watching us from the window. Not that I was staring. Zoe and Millie let me know when we took a break. With Penelope fast asleep, I was less anxious about being away from her. It was scary how much I'd missed her.

My bond with Ivan was still there, but caring for the pack's children made it more bearable.
