24: Killing A Lower Moon

"N-Nezuko" tanjiro said forcefully as he crawled towards nezuko who was bleeding out not far away, he had managed to overpower the lower moon demon "rui" for only a minute before his power ran out, he was now completely powerless..

although tanjiro thought he had defeated the lower moon demon, he was sadly mistaken, rui's head was lifted off the ground by some silvery threads of light as it floated up.

"did you really think that was enough to kill me?" rui said in a slightly angry and dark tone, he slowly walked towards tanjiro's injured and shivering body.

"did this pathetic display of power bring you joy? DID IT?" rui continued, his veins

popping out of his pale white floating head which hung off a few strings.

"ill kill you and your sister now, i have never been in a rage for so long, truly a pity" the spider demon glared at nezuko and then at the injured tanjiro.

a bubble of fury rising within.

although tanjiro tried to crawl even faster and encourage himself to breathe and get back up, it was futile, his body was falling apart from the damage and exhaustion.

rui creepily placed his head back on, his eyes showing his status as a lower 5th rank moon, one of the twelve kizuki.

"you and your sister, i dont know who's power it was, or was it both of your powers, but it got me really damn annoyed" Rui's face fell as he frowned, showing his sharp teeth, pulling his arms apart from across his face as red threads appeared in front of him like a fishnet.

"blood art: murderous Eye basket" Rui shouted and unleashed his threads, which soon surrounded tanjiro, causing the ground around him to turn into a ring of crimson threads, the threads concentrated before flowing out like metal whips towards tanjiro.

but before the attacks could reach tanjiro, a calm yet cold voice resounded throughout the depths of the forest.

a bone-chilling coldness appeared, causing rui to shake slightly as his scarlet threads froze in space, as if a mysterious force had stopped it.

"ice domain"

"boom!!" the scarlet threads shattered into pieces of bright ice-shards and fell to the ground.

a tall figure in a black haori quickly jumped out from within the dark forest, his bright sword illuminating the dark sky like a brilliant moon.

"itsu-" tanjiro noticed and recognized itsuki's face the moment he appeared, a sudden excitement appearing within his heart, but before he could finish, a bright sword light landed on the shocked demon.

it was like the descent of a hundred arrows, rui could only stare above in shock as the terrifying sword lights fell upon it.

with a clean cut its whole body was pierced with dozens of sword stabs before its head was cleanly cut off.

"rest in peace" itsuki said calmly to the dead lower moon demon, rui was honestly one of his favorite characters, but only due to his fancy demon art, but itsuki couldnt leave him alive.

"3 levels just like that?" itsuki gazed at his status screen, he had indeed leveled up alot more from killing one of the twelve kizuki.

"inosuke?" tanjiro noticed inosuke appearing as well from within the dark forest, the usually rowdy inosuke was actually quiet for once, which shocked tanjiro.

"did itsuki beat him up on the way?" he sweated profusely at the thought, he then put it at the back of his head before rushing towards nezuko.

"dont worry she is a demon, she wont die so easily, she will heal very fast" itsuki consoled him, although tanjiro believed it, he didn't like seeing his sister in such a bloody state.

itsuki stared into the darkness for a bit before saying calmly with a smile "dont you think you have watched enough?, just come out"

tanjiro and inosuke didn't understand what he meant, but after hearing the noise from within the forest, they immediately thought there was another enemy.
