Chapter 1Unlucky Encounters

You saw her from the windowsill where you leaned on mossy degrading wood.

It had been hit by the humidity and grime of the undercity, where nothing could escape corruption, including you.

For years, you had tried to find an honest job picking at junk in search of recyclables, carrying coal or freshwater across the city. But the pay was never enough for you to support Angela, your little sister, and to pay for her school fees.

In fact, you really had to bust your ass to bribe her way into a boarding school on the topside. But it would pay off, later on. With the education she received and the connections she could make, you hoped she could live her whole life up there and forget that you were buried in the grime down here. And one day she could make a new, different life for herself. For now, you had to pay the boarding fees, meal pass, and anything else they threw at you. And harsh fees meant hard work. You accepted the job without even reading the description; because all you saw was the paycheck.

Now you were hauling bags of metal around the city or guarding gallons of shimmer for the most disreputable overlord in the city.

In a way, it was funny because the job would probably kill you, and honestly, you hadn't ever lived. You never travelled, never loved, and didn't have too many friends. Your whole life had been spent trying to support Angela. In fact, you barely even knew your own name.

"MC, get your ass over here." At least your co-workers kept it in mind. Dranger, a bulky man over six feet, called you over. Your 'team' was carrying barrels of shimmer into a cargo hatch for transport. You were supposed to keep watch from the window, but another member had grown too tired, and now sat sprawled with his back against the wall, she avoided your gaze as the big boss called you over to do the other heavy lifting. He was just being cruel to the newbie, a supposed right of passage, though perhaps that was one of the reasons no one stuck in the job for long. You made eye contact and held it for a second before you looked away and walked downstairs. But she carried on watching you, still sprawled with her gun in her hand as though it was a toy. Her eyes stayed on your back, completely focused. It made you slightly nervous, an alien emotion.

In all honesty, you were glad to climb deeper into the ship. You could break Jinx's line of sight, and you could stop looking at her. Maybe that's why she was staring, revenge for the last half an hour you had spent glancing at her. Perhaps it made her equally uncomfortable. You made a mental note not to make eye contact with her again. After all she was working out of boredom and only when she wanted to. Which meant that she was not the kind of person you could afford to piss off. Placing your hands on the bottom of the barrel, you managed to lift it onto the others. Your view was slightly blocked by the ramp into the dark, but it didn't matter much, you knew where to go to get out. But deep in the flying ships belly, a terrible feeling passed over you. Among clouds of gas from broken or damaged barrels, your foot sank into the ground, you wished that it was a slight slip from a leak or the hummidity, but it was not. A pressure plate had sent a metal ball speeding towards you. You stood still, too shocked to move, and it barely missed you, revealing the bottom of the shape where a neon monkey was drawn.

"What the hell." You said taking a step back. From the shadows, Jinx came towards you.

"You didn't even flinch."

You realized your face must have looked calm, Angela always teased you for being unable to show emotion. "But seriously, I thought you'd say something, like 'oh no! my face!' or something... but I guess some people don't have a great sense of humour." She had started out with the sentence jokingly but by the end there was a slight gleen in her eyes, interest perhaps. She drew her pistol and held it under your chin. "You really should react somehow, thats when people show sympathy." But she soon laughed, throwing her hands down with a dramatic sigh. "Seriously nothing, has anyone told you that you're really boring?"

She began to walk away.

"Well, what should I have done?" You retorted, throwing out your arms. She turned around and began to raise her arm, ready to point it at you again, probably as a jest, you hoped. But instead, you dashed forward and grabbed her hand, pushing the gun towards the floor. She tilted her head and smiled before trying to trip you with a hook kick. Dodging to the left, you caught her off-balance, and with your hand, you took her gun. She landed on her butt with an "oof" and sent the dust on the floor flying. You reached out your arm, gun in hand to her, "See I appreciate some slapstick comedy." She grabbed her gun and stood up. For a moment you thought she might shoot you but instead she smirked and put it in the holster by her belt.

"Well that was a reaction." She said with a smile. "I'll get you later."

She walked up and out the ship, perhaps to find someone who would react better to her pranks, or perhaps to create a plan for revenge. But you couldn't help but touch your calloused fingers and think about how soft her hand was.

Elden Ring: Miquella's Consort

(A/N: This is yaoi/gay/boy's love story, featuring the Miquella and Tarnished, in case you didn't figure. If you bitch about it, I'm coming for YOUR asshole instead.) I died, I met an Omnipotent being, and he granted me some wishes. Pretty cliche at this point, right? Can't get any originals in these times, am I right? But that's where the cliches stop. Why? Well, what do you think my wish was? To be overpowered? To have a massive, useless harem? No, god no. I hate harems, damn it! (Ahem ahem, but some worlds are exceptions.) So what was my wish? Pretty original, I wanted to be a Multiverse myself! Not as in own a Multiverse. But as in be a literal Multiverse myself! Pretty cool, right? But what kind of Multiverse did I become? Simple, I became a Parasitic Multiverse, where I would send pieces of myself to different Multiverses and copy their sources of powers and such to make myself even stronger than them! Comics like Marvel, DC, Invincible, movies like Transformers, Godzilla, Harry Potter, cartoons like Rick and Morty, TMNT, Kung Fu Panda, animes like Dragon Ball, Bleach, Naruto, and games like God of War, Assassin's Creed, Devil May Cry! I want them all, I want every power available in each and every one of them! So I sent my soul pieces to every one of them! But not as overpowered beings. Nah, that would be boring. I don't want to just copy their powers, I want to experience and venture around too! So what about this soul piece? What's it going to do, and what Multiverse will it go to? Doesn't the damn title make it obvious?! This is the tale of me, a reincarnated of no renown, upgrading to a Tarnished of no renown in the Elden Ring instead! But fuck the "in the search of the Elden Ring," I'm in the search of Miquella the femboy's bussy instead! Get some popcorn, drinks and snacks, cause it's time to hit the grind!

The Synthesis Wizard

In a world where elements lay barren and powerful wizards had abandoned their homeland a millennium ago to explore the multiverse, Sunan found himself reincarnated as a noble scion stripped of his title. This world, once brimming with magic and wonder, had fallen into a desolate state, and wizards had become mere legends. Sunan was acutely aware that after a thousand years, the elements would awaken once more, heralding the return of the wizards and ushering in a new era of prosperity. He understood that his path was clear: he must train diligently to become a wizard himself and survive until this glorious age arrived. “Resources are scarce?” he mused, determination flickering in his eyes. “Then I’ll just have to synthesize them myself.” With that thought, he activated the Synthesis Cube, a device that granted him the ability to combine materials into something new. This Cube was not just a tool; it was a symbol of his potential in this world, reflecting his status as a player in a game he once played. As he set to work, the Cube glowed with possibilities, presenting him with a myriad of options. He had a few basic materials at his disposal, remnants of his previous life and the knowledge he had accumulated from his past experiences in the game. Sunan began experimenting, combining herbs and minerals he had gathered. Each successful synthesis filled him with a sense of accomplishment, inching him closer to his goal of becoming a wizard. Days turned into weeks, and Sunan’s skills improved rapidly. He crafted potions, improved his understanding of magical theories, and honed his mental abilities through intense meditation practices. The Star Ring Meditation, one of the first techniques he mastered, allowed him to tap into the latent mental energy within himself, enhancing his cognitive functions and magical sensitivity. As he progressed, whispers of his endeavors began to circulate among the remaining noble families and the common folk. Some viewed him with suspicion, while others saw potential in the young man who dared to challenge the status quo. Sunan knew he needed allies. He began seeking out individuals who shared his vision—a return to the age of wizards. He discreetly approached the remnants of the nobility, the few who still held some influence, and began to forge connections. His reputation grew cautiously, and with it, the opportunities to gather resources and knowledge. He learned of hidden libraries, ancient texts, and artifacts that could aid in his quest. One fateful day, while exploring a forgotten ruin, he uncovered an ancient tome detailing the rituals of the wizards who had once thrived on this land. The pages contained knowledge that could accelerate his growth, including spells long lost to time. “This is it,” Sunan thought as he carefully transcribed the contents into his own notes. “With this, I can not only learn the spells but also improve my synthesis techniques.” As he delved deeper into the arcane arts, he realized that the key to his ascension lay not just in personal power but in understanding the intricate web of alliances and rivalries that defined noble society. He had to navigate these treacherous waters carefully. In the back of his mind, Sunan always remembered the impending return of the wizards. The time was coming when he would have to reveal his true potential and lead the charge into the new era. With each passing day, he grew stronger, more confident, and increasingly aware of the responsibilities that awaited him. The world was changing, and Sunan was determined to be at the forefront of that change—a wizard in a world that had forgotten what it meant to wield true power.
