Chapter 11

|Mc pov|

Walking out of the house i could only shake my head to the recent events. Pulling my sleeve up as i looked at a ring like bite mark that was on my forearm.

'From the moment i touched that girl, that thing attached itself to me. If it hadn't been for Shinso feeling my spiritual pressure being eaten.. i might have ended up just like that girl. It seems these things like to feed on reitsu, that's probably why he picked that girl in the first place.' Shaking my head i looked out at this part of Zaraki district, there were no lights, no movement and not even the usual sounds of the forest could be heard.

"I guess, I really did.. put too much faith in the girl to kill someone already injured. She couldn't even perform that simple task.. not like it matters at this point though". Kains voice came from all around me while i made my way to the center of a three way road.

Hearing the disappointment but also the lack of true care in his words.

"So how long do you want to play this game? If you knew I saw what was in that room, why not try and kill me yourself. Instead of leaving it to that girl." I spoke looking around me for a second before smiling a little.

"I actually quite enjoy games like this, as for your question what was the need to hide it? What's wrong.. you didn't like my play thing? I was already done with that family anyway. The girls spiritual pressure was so nourishing I became a little greedy. To top it all off I didn't think a no named brat would give me trouble, so I left it to her, the look on her face when she thought she killed you.. was to die for." Kain's voice echoed as a green energy arrow shot towards my back at high speed.

"Your failing at every turn it would seem Kain.." pulling my sword and flicking it as an arrow broke in to fragments of energy.

Moving my head to the side as another shot from the front. More arrows showered me as I moved my body and deflected them. The sparks from my sword could be seen, while burst of green lights shot out from the darkness.

"I like you kid, your a lot better then I had given you credit for.. so let's start over. You see, my name is Kain L, The Leach. It's a pleasure to meet someone actually worth a damn in this town. So let's have some fun together." Kain's voice was everywhere and even if he tried to remain calm his voice betrayed him. While he spoke I looked at the children of all ages and women who walked out of the dark areas around me.

There eyes sunken in, their grey cracked stone like skin, there mouth in a permanent grin and the leach like creatures on their chest. Tilting my head around to see the many people who Kain had all drained. I shook my head and put my sword to the side.

"You know, it's rude not to give one's name, you might not even have one but it doesn't matter. I'll learn a lot more from you when I turn you into one of my play things." Kain laughed a little while the people lifted one of there hands out in front of their bodies.

Taking the other, they made a pulling motion in the air as if drawing a bow.

Green energy came to life from there hands as it lit up the dark. The Emerald green gave off a feeling of confusion as they aimed them at me. The mix of dark and light coming together in a hypnotic fashion.

"I might have completely misjudged the situation, I didn't know.. I was dealing with a Quincy." Speaking in to the dark Kain no longer spoke, the place around me became unnaturally silent while I looked onward to the people.

"Hey kid, where the hell did you hear that name." Kain's voice was no longer playful, his glasses reflecting the moon light as he walked out from behind his puppets. Looking at me with a strained face while i tilted my head a little.

"I have no idea how you came to know that name but I'll make sure you never speak it again. Deal with him." Kain getting no answer became impatient, raising his finger to me as the arrows shot forward.

*clap *clap.

"Did that hit a soft spot? Why so impatient? I thought you wanted to have fun.." My voice was calm, while blood sprayed in a arch as I squatted down on the building behind Kain and his army of slaves. Clapping my hands two times as he watched as some of the women along with a few children's leaches and their heads fell to the ground.

"Killing the innocent, and people call me a monster." Standing with his back to me, he watched the bodies fall. His mouth twitching a little as he didn't even know when I had moved.

"While I can agree.. to them being innocent, even so their already dead. Like a leach you drained them. Now that is out of the way, let's get this over with." I said standing with a smile, the moon light behind my back as I looked down at Kain.

"Tch, come on! you dumb shits! kill him!" Turning around Kain was be on annoyed at this point. Pointing his finger at me as arrows shot out at high speeds.

Moving back as my body flickered in the air, moving my head slightly to let some slide by my cheek. Moving my sword to deflect some of the green energy arrows, while others I just completely shattered. Placing my sword upside down as an arrow was split down the middle shooting to either side of me, turning my head a little as they exploded. Needle splintered fragments of energy shooting out as I disappeared.

"Did you really think that was all I had? I've been feeding off these people for a few weeks now. You should have just moved on with out asking questions." Kain spoke as he brought down a cross like hilt, a green energy blade coming out of the top. Trying to hit me in the back as I landed on the ground.

"Your not really good in combat.. are you Kain?" Holding my arm behind me I let the blade slide down it. Watching the sparks fly while I looked back at his face and saw as he was breathing heavy. Turning my body as I thrust out with speed hitting his shoulder, watching blood fly while his eyes became blood shot.

"Tch, you really are.. becoming annoying kid, but it's no use." Backing away Kain moved back into his little army. The place at his shoulder where he was stabbed burning in a green color as he healed.

*clap.

"Where are you going? Useless? Really." Clapping I watched Kain's face freeze, holding his chest and mouth, coughing out blood onto his gloves. I watched it spill out between his fingers. While his eyes slowly looked down at the stab wound through his chest.

'When the hell did he stab me? Ah!' Kain yelled in his mind, confused by another sharpe pain in his leg. Looking at the blood that gushed out from a wound going all the way through.

'What the hell is wrong with this kid, what did he do? Damn it, I need to move back.. and figure out what the hell is going on.' Kain's mind raced, trying to come up with a explanation. Turning his blood shot eyes to look at mine, only to see me with a ever present smile. He didn't know why but it was different now, and it started to freak him out.

"So your power is linked to all your puppets? That being said.. there must be a root right?" I spoke as I deflected more arrows and rushed into the crowd of slaves. My sword moving as it cut down whoever was in my way. Watching Kain try and melt into the group of puppets but only failed to do so. Getting cut by me over and over, confused that he couldn't tell from where it was coming or what was happening.

'I need to get away from here, I don't know, what the hell this kid is.. uh, doing but it's not normal? A Shinigami ability?' Kain who kept healing, watched me cut down the puppets he spent so much time on. For each one that fell, his healing would lessen over time and soon his robe was covered in blood at different areas.

"So is that all you amounted to? I thought you'd have more. Healing, illusions, manipulation and yet.. you don't really know anything about combat. You rather steal the power and have others do it with out actually doing anything." Walking over the bodies of the people who laid all around, there blood dying the grass red. Walking as I spoke to Kain who was running towards the girls house.

'Where is she?! Where?! Ah!' Slamming open the door Kain's glasses were missing now, his blue eyes stressed and his breathing erratic. Rushing to the back where he didn't see anything.

"It's Kain where are you! I need your help please!" Kain tried to sound sincere and worried. Looking at the door that was cut down then to the back door that was open. Rushing out of it as he ran into the forest, moving through the trees and finally making it to a patch of grass lit up by the glow of the moon.

"There you are! I've been looking all over?!" Kain's arms were out to the side, his stance staggered while his once well kept blonde hair was a mess.

"Kain? Why? Why did you lie to me?!" In the middle of this field, the girl sat having dug a hole and placed her siblings in the ground. She heard his voice while squeezing the dirt below her, tears soaking into the freshly moved dirt as she cried. Turning to Kain who was bloody, she yelled out at him while she looked at his face become more and more twisted.

"I don't have time for this! I don't care about you, your family or any of this. I just need your strength." Kain rushed forward grabbing her as he yelled.

"Stop!" The girl yelled unexpectedly, she struck out with the short katana.

"Little bitch!" Kain not realizing, was cut on the cheek. Using his blade to hit hers a few times, sparks from her attempts to block came to life. Pushing her back more the girls back hit a tree while her katana was smacked away. Covering her mouth so she couldn't yell he dragged her back into the light.

"So this is.. where you went?" I spoke, my hair blowing as i stepped out of the darkness that came from the trees. Looking at the man bite down on the girls neck directly as he tried to heal.

"Stay away! or I'll kill the girl!" Kain yelled while he held his blade out.

"I don't have time for your act, you had already planned to do so.. anyway. So I hope you can forgive me, for what I have to do. 'Pierce his flesh, Shinso'. Not wanting to drag it out any longer, I flashed stepped in front of the girls body. My hair blowing in the wind while I looked at the ground. The girls eyes growing wide while Kain only looked on at me with a face of pure fear. Placing my swords tip at the girls heart, I spoke.

The sounds of blood and flesh could be heard as the wind carried it throughout the forest. The green leaves and grass covered in its red stains as the moon was covered by the clouds. A small glow from its peaceful light shining down on three silhouettes. A boy and two others could be seen, while the shape of a long sword held them up in the air, before the sword was ripped from their chest.
