Ch 74 – Hunting Monsters

(The Next Day)

Inside somewhere in the royal capital, Kilt was seen holding two swords swinging them all around the air as if he was fighting an imaginary enemy.

"Flare, go get Kyouma for me, we will let him learn how to fight basic monsters for now and get him accustomed to combat," said Kilt as he stopped his swinging and sheathed his swords on the sheaths hanging from his waist.

"Okay!" said Flare as she stood up from her rock and with a flash of light, she appeared inside the forest and look around to find Kyouma's house.

"Hmm, where is his house?" muttered Flare as she flew to the sky and looked around the forest and saw a clearing in the distance along with the wooden roof of a house and knew that it was Kyouma's house.

"There it is," said Flare with a nod as she flew towards the house in the distance and landed just outside the door but didn't see the silhouette of Kyouma anywhere.

"Where is he?" muttered Flare as she went towards the door and opened it to be greeted by the sight of a comfy-looking house full of wooden objects like chairs, tables, wooden cups, and more but still, Kyouma was nowhere to be found.

As she walked all around the house with curious eyes, she fiddled with the stuff inside the house and was surprised at how high quality the house was and glance at the stairs heading upstairs and decided to go there.

And once she reached it, she was greeted by the site of just a normal set of rooms with random stuff laid inside each of them ranging from swords to a pot of plant.

"Hmm, is he not home?" muttered Flare as she went downstairs and just sat down on a chair to wait for Kyouma to appear but it didn't take long till she heard the sound of leaves and foliage ruffling around.

"Kyouma!" shouted Flare as she got out of the house to greet Kyouma but what she saw was Kyouma drenched in blood while his upper body was fully naked that was full of lean muscles that seems to hold power along with a boar being dragged along the ground with him.

"Oh Flare, I didn't expect for you to be here," said Kyouma as she noticed the bits of flesh dangling inside his mouth along with a piece of the boar being bitten off.

"D- did you eat that boar raw!?" said Flare in shock.

"Yep, it tastes quite good when you get used to it, want some? I still have plenty of meat left" said Kyouma as he lifted the whole boar up with one hand and showed her the chewed parts of the boar drenched in blood.

"No thank you," said Flare as she pushed Kyouma's bloody hand away with magic with Kyouma shrugging in response.

"If you say so, so why are you here anyway?" asked Kyouma while walking inside his house with the boar and towards a certain room she hasn't entered yet and the moment she looked inside she was greeted by the sight of bones and dead corpses of wild animals and some were even reptiles like snakes.

"W- why do you have all of this in this room?" asked Flare with worry and fear in her eyes.

"Don't worry about it, it's just my storage space where I keep my spoils from hunting, I do plan to throw them out tomorrow if my body doesn't evolve enough to also accommodate bones into my diet" said Kyouma as he threw the boar with ease towards the room and she heard a loud thump that indicates how heavy the boar was.

"Y- you've been eating this… stuff since yesterday?" asked Flare with a disgusted and surprised face.

"Yep, it makes my body evolve faster as my immune system desperately adapts to keep up with the stress I am making my body go through, just yesterday I even struggled for a few minutes to bring the dead body of a boar back home," said Kyouma as Flare saw his skin suddenly peeling off like a snake and out came his now clean body with no blood, and grossly enough, he pick up the bloody dirty skin and chewed on it like a snack.

"Want some of my delicious skin?" asked Kyouma as she gagged and said, "No thank you."

"Well more nutrition for me, so what do you need me for? It's only been a day since we last met, you miss me already?" said Kyouma while he went upstairs with Flare following behind him.

"Kilt asked me to get you, you'll train with us hunting monsters for a while in the wild to up your combat experience and get to our level quickly," said Flare as she followed him inside a room and saw him put on his iconic white shirt and white lab coat.

"Oh cool, so are you guys going to teach me magic or something? I find it pretty cool, you know, spewing fireballs like a wizard" said Kyouma as he put on his glasses and now he was fully dressed up.

"We'll teach you that later," said Flare as Kyouma stood beside her.

"So when will we teleport?" asked Kyouma as Flare noticed that he wasn't breathing at all, it's like his chest never moves.

"Hey, are you breathing or not?" suddenly asked Flare.

"Oh, you have quite the keen eyes I see. I do breathe but I don't need to breathe for a few minutes, my lungs have evolved to the point I can keep oxygen inside me for a few minutes without difficulty" said Kyouma as Flare nodded.

"Well let's go then!" said Flare as they appeared outside the royal capital and on an open field with Kilt standing there with a calm face.

"Yo, it's nice to meet you again," said Kyouma as he walked towards Kilt with a smile.

"Mmm, so do you know what you are going to do today?" asked Kilt.

"Yep, so where are the monsters?" asked Kyouma as he looked around with squinted eyes.

"Over there, we'll test you against some wandering orcs, Flare, you go first and lure one out towards us," said Kilt as Flare nodded, and with that, she muttered some words along with a single Orc suddenly looking towards her with enraged eyes and rushed towards her leaving its group behind.

"Watch carefully, Flare is good at everything and you need to reach her level so that you can keep up with us down the line," said Kilt as Flare rushed towards the orc with her hands formed into a fist.

The orc struck first as he swung his fist towards her which she quickly dodge by ducking to the ground and she swung her legs towards the feet of the orc making it land on the ground and with that, she quickly stood up and swung her fist towards the orc's head making it explode with that single punch.

"Now it's your turn," said Kilt as Kyouma chuckled, "You guys are really bad teachers, but oh well, I can manage."

Just like last, an orc rushed towards him with enraged eyes while Kyouma just stood there full of calm like the steady ocean.

As the orc finally reached Kyouma and swung its large fist towards him, Kyouma's nails suddenly got longer and sharp along, and he went to swipe his nails towards the forearm of the orc while dodging as a wound appeared on the orc's arm.

And as the duo expected the orc to rush towards Kyouma again, it just plops down on the ground with lifeless eyes with Flare looking at it in surprise.

"Poison strong enough to kill a C rank monster, impressive for only being here for a day," said Kilt with a nod as he looked at Kyouma's nails with raised eyebrows.

"How did you get your poison to be so strong?" asked Kilt as he looked at Kyouma's nails with a raised eyebrow.

"Oh, I just ate raw animals and the random plants I found in the forest, it wasn't worth it though, I had diarrhea for the whole night and I just slept in the wild so my body can just shit it out while I was asleep," said Kyouma with a nonchalant chuckle while they were both disgusted and surprised at how… eccentric Kyouma was.

"Oh… well I shouldn't have asked that," said Kilt with a sigh as he watched Kyouma going towards the dead orc and went to chew on its hard skin and it somehow works which shows how sharp his teeth were, with a blank stare, he watched Kyouma eat the dead orc raw and sighed at how he will ruin the image of the prestigious reincarnates in the future.

As he waited for him to finish, Kyouma walked back to them with his face coated in blood while Flare hurriedly cast magic so that Kyouma's body will be clean.

"So what do I do next?" said Kyouma as Kilt saw his bloated stomach rapidly flattening out by the second.

"We'll continue hunting for the day to get you accustomed to fighting, c'mon, we still have tons of pesky monsters roaming the field," said Kilt as he stood up from the rock he was sitting on as Kyouma nodded and followed him along with Flare as they committed genocide against the monsters roaming around the field for the rest of the day with Kyouma eating them all raw.
