I reviewed the first part of this novel, so other people wouldn't have to read it: FAT SHAMING EVERYWHERE. I needed to check since this important tag was left out of the description. However, the MC doesn't only shame people who struggle with weight by calling them ugly. She also says that people who are recovering from illness and having some activity are ugly, people with marks on their faces are ugly, and those who work hard are ugly. She is SUPPOSEDLY someone who did some great medical research and got a reward for it. The background suggests she might have been a pharmacologist instead of a medical doctor, but it's unclear at this point. Instead of going into research because she liked it, it is painfully obvious she does not have the respect owed to patients and even abhors those who have struggles with her weight. Although she's supposed to know a lot, she has the naive idea that dieting and exercise are all that's needed to lose weight. Should she really be skipping meals when the body literally died the previous day? Doesn't it need strength in order to recover? Not in this series because it's better to be dead than to have some meat on your bones! That said, the storyline and characters thus far are superficial. Although I dropped the series quite earlier than I normally would for writing a review, nothing about it impressed me. The logic was full of holes. The mother who supposedly cares about her never took the host body for a diagnosis or evaluation? Issues like sudden weight gain, especially with a swelling-type distribution, can often be caused by endocrine disorders. Among other things, this would have to be evaluated. This series is too full of hate for those who work hard to improve their health or don't have the ideal Chinese figure. Aside from the narrator hating on everyone for one reason or another, there isn't anything appealing--the plot, characters, setting, and acceptance are painfully weak.

I admit I enjoyed this up until chapter 40. There were the usual suspects - fat shaming, beauty = value, but they weren't as egregious as other webnovels - but after chapter 40 the quality falls dramatically. She goes to live with the ML for A MONTH and it's a timeskip. Then she goes home and NO ONE ASKS WHERE SHE WENT OR WHAT SHE WAS DOING. She skipped school the entire time, didn't see her mother - who cares about her - and NO ONE FOUND THAT STRANGE? What? She returns with HER ENTIRE HEAD WRAPPED IN BANDAGES, and NO ONE COMMENTS ON IT?! It's like the author set this up then completely forgot that other characters would react to someone who looked like the Invisible Man -_- Also, she slimmed down in that one month - it's just casually thrown in and the "reveal" (which isn't a reveal at all) is just slipped in (you wouldn't know if you didn't read carefully). It's ridiculous that she slimmed down in only a month, and it's even more ridiculous that this wasn't set-up properly for the reveal the readers expect -_- And now she's going to a ball at the school which is basically just "Oh, by the way, FL, there's a ball at school tomorrow." ??? That's not how things work? This should have been foreshadowed. I liked the dynamic she FL had with her mother, and the set-up of the relationship with her brother and the white lotus sister was interesting, but they've been completely forgotten about in recent chapters. I'm really not sure what happened, but it's a shame that this has dropped so much in quality.
