C. Gaara Is camping near the tower for kills. And he needs to avoid Orochimaru. Going away from them qnd taking your time would increase his chances of improving and gaining experience in the wild and against other genin. Plus there could be a random encounter with Karin if the Luck God's allow it.

C.It's the forest of death picking A might lead to gaara (most likely there will be a roll for that) picking B will be foolish because of orochimaru and the fact that team 7 have show themselves to be easy pickings and because of Naruto they have already made enemies people will rush to get them.All we need to do is get a earth scroll and slow and steady wins the race and if all fails then team 7 will be in there for a while so it's better to have that as a plan B since their easy to find.
