Mr. Strauss cleared his throat. "Your first assignment for Life Orientation is to spend a day with your partner and write a book report about your activities. It's due Friday the 22nd." At least that gives them enough time to complete their book reports too, I thought as I shifted my gaze back and forth between the two whims partners had yet to arrive. "So it would be you and I. I'm Natsu by the way." I introduced myself to the beauty sitting beside me. Her raw comeback caught me by surprise. "And I really couldn't care less. Listen up! I'm only gonna do this because quite frankly, I have no other choice in the matter. Now don't go jumping to conclusions." Sure she's being kind of mean, but even so I can't help myself as to lose myself in her rare beauty. The red head turned slightly around in her seat and told me in a playful yet warning manner, "You should be careful of this one, she bites!" Lucy sucked in her breath sharply before stating with a snork. "And you call yourself my friend?" Her question sounds rather rhetorical, but even so another girl jumped face first into the conversation. This girl has short blue hair. She's a tiny little thing. "Oh, but we are indeed. Do share Lulu, why aren't you together anymore?" She pointed a finger towards Lucy's ex, and continued: "You guys seemed so happy together." She gave a little wicked snarl, which didn't fit her image at all. "That's a definite understatement. More in the line of used to be, but yeah whatever! (She waved it away with the back of her hand like it's long forgotten). Would you like to inform our friends Grey, or should I?"
He rolled his eyes at her before joining the little party too. "I would if I knew, but please babe do refresh my memory?" He ended with a smirk. I can tell that she's about to lose her cool completely. "You really shouldn't have said that, you bastard. Did you really think that you could keep me for the fool? I saw you together, you and that blue haired bimbo..." She spat at him. Realization melted like butter all over his face. "Oh! Her? You weren't supposed to know about that," he said it so matter of factly that I wanted to strangle him. "You sly dog!" The shiny stud guy exclaimed as he gave his neighbor a sympathetic pat on the shoulder. "Shame on you! How can you even sleep at night?" Just like that the tiny one turned into a feisty little tiger. "Easy, with my eyes close. " His reaction leaves me bitter. He's being an utter jackass.
Lucy threw her chair back and stood up from her sitting position. "Shall we get going? I wouldn't like to get my hands dirty by strangling the life out of this idiot." She stormed out of the classroom, me on her heels. She didn't even stop to see if I were following her. She must have already figured that much. As we walked down the corridor, I asked: "What are we going to write our book report about? Honestly I don't mind, you can choose the activity." We left FTH behind and headed up the road. I was just beginning to think that she wasn't going to answer my question, when her comeback surprised me. "Usually I enjoy my afternoon at the rink. I think it would be a pretty decent activity. Do you care to join me?" I shook my head. "Not at all, lead the way." I assured her.
When I entered the ice skating building, the conversation brewed between us. "Just don't laugh if I'm to fall flat on my face," I pleaded rhetorically. "Why did you agree to come along if you can't even skate?" She clearly asked but she made it sound sarcastic. "Oh, don't get me wrong. I can skate, it has just been a while," I answered her with a wink. She gave me a grin. I can feel one of her clever feedbacks are coming up. "In that case, be sure to expect some laughter from my side if you do fall on your face." I should have seen that one coming. I gave her a little smile. "You're evil!" She stood up from the bench after she finished with her ice skates and made her way towards the rink. As she took her first step on to the frozen surface, she looked from over her shoulder. "Wrong. Haven't you paid any attention, I'm Lucy. Now are you coming or not?" Such a playful aura hung around her. It's a moment worth framing.
I crept up on her and picked her up high, as I spun around in random circles. I'm glad to see the I have yet to lose my brilliant balance. "Lighten up, will you?" A tiny screech fly from her mouth and echoed through the building. Guess she's afraid that I would let her fall. Not likely! Eventually I gave in and put her down. We figure skated together, for what seemed like hours.
I must admit that I never expected her to be so damn good. Our bodies melts together as one, like we're meant to be doing this together. Is this Faith's handiwork?
