Chapter 25 – Scarlet Devil Lucy
Inside a certain stone house.
The gentle rays of the Moon Pearl at the ceiling illuminated the room. Revealing the different apparatus and laboratory equipment.
Underneath the moon pearl was long table where a masked man lay down. The chains binding his limbs shimmered as his blood flowed on the table.
Swish! Swish!
A finger-sized danger whizzed in the air. Wherever it goes, blood would follow suit. The man's soft groan and the piercing sound of the dagger created a harmony never seen before.
"To dare massacre ten children just to train your vile art." A sweet and melodious voice sounded from the side. "To dare violate the Death God's code of ethics… You deserved to be my experimental subject."
Her long and slender finger danced in the air, controlling the dagger as it pierced through the man's skin. As she controlled the dagger, her other hand continuously writes something in the parchment floating in the air.
Slowly, the anatomy of the masked man appeared on the parchment. His mana circulation, his meridian, and acupoints were written as well.
She was close to finishing the drawing when suddenly…
"GET YOUR ASS OVER HERE LUCY!"
She trembled in fright. The dagger whizzing in the air embedded on the masked man's thigh while a large dot appeared on the parchment she was writing.
"Damn it!" She grumbled before turning around and rushing to the door.
"COMING!"
As she moves, her enchanting back view appeared to the view. She was only wearing her underwear while a grey apron covered her front.
Underneath her long scarlet hair was a haven of pearly white skin. Her bountiful curves created waves as she moves.
When she arrived next to the door, she quickly took the cape with a bone staff insignia hanging in the wall and wore it.
The cape covered her back down to her thigh. But, instead of lowering her charm, the cape instead gave her a demoness vibe.
Magic circles appeared on her military boots. And with a flash, she dashed towards the field at lightning-fast speed.
In the blink of an eye, she arrived in front of Serg and with an annoyed look, she asked, "What do you need?"
Her cape fluttered in the air, revealing her skin and the curves she hides within.
"This woman…" Jhin was stunned the moment his eyes landed upon her. Complex emotions filled his eyes as he stared at her. Her face, her figure, they were so familiar.
While daze, the woman turned around and frown. She looked at Jhin and in threatening tone she said, "Continue staring, and I'll gauge your eyeballs."
Hearing those words, Jhin woke up from his daze, he scratched his head before shifting his gaze to the side. It was only now, did he realized that all the soldiers had their heads looking at the ground.
"Hmph!" Lucy snorted before looking at the commander in puzzlement. "What do you need me for?"
"Sit down!" Serg angrily said. He controlled his mana to form thirteen earthen chairs. Then he cast a barrier spell, preventing others from spying on their conversation.
Hearing the commander's angry tone, Lucy took a deep breath before sitting.
"I've gathered all of you here to discuss a strategy." Serg said. "The shelter… No, the people of the shelter are in danger.
"A week from now, there will be a beast stampede. One of the magical beasts we'll be facing are the Berserk Wolves, a magical beast with the innate ability called berserk. The ability enables them to enter berserk upon smelling blood."
"How do you think should we handle them?" Serg asked as he scanned the captains.
"Let them come to the city wall and bombard them with magic!" Lucy snorted. She raised her right hand and a magic circle instantly materialized from it.
Even without chanting, she could instantly cast a Tier 2 spell.
Just like the cultivation level, the strength of the spells was also divided by Tiers. Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3, and so on. Tier 1 and above combatants could cast Tier 1 spells. Same case with Tier 2, only those Tier 2 combatants and above could cast Tier 2 spells.
Any combatant, as long as they reached Tier 1 and up could cast magic spells.
Those combatants who are specialized in casting magic are called mages. Not only are their spells much powerful compares to normal combatant. But their casting speed are also faster, some could even insta-cast spells like Lucy.
Lucy was the captain of the magic company of Serg's battalion. And she was known for her intense passion to magic. Even to the point of using prisoners as experimental subjects.
Thanks to her existence, the number of atrocities within the shelter greatly reduced. And without a doubt, all the soldiers are afraid of her, she was even named as the scarlet devil. Anyone who offended her would have a bad ending, just like the masked man earlier.
"That's indeed possible. However, adding the two mages of the battalion, the number would only amount to more than three hundred." Mon said after a moment of thought, "How about we add the archers as the main attacking force…"
...
The meeting between the captains continues for about half an hour until Serg stood up and looked at the crowd. "We've come up with the initial plan.
"All soldiers! Regardless of the profession must train archery within this week. That's the only way we can defeat stampede and protect our families. Every second counts, all of you, hurry to the archery hall and start practicing now!"
"Yes sir!" The soldiers shouted in unison. Then, all of them rushed towards the black tower.
Watching the soldiers leave, Serg looked at his captain, "Lucy, you stay behind. The rest of you, train the soldiers to the best of your abilities, dismiss!"
"Yes sir!" All the captains nodded. The cape on their back fluttered, revealing the different insignia printed on it. In a blink of an eye, the captains also rushed towards the black tower just like the soldiers.
At this moment, except from the unconscious, only Serg, Lucy, and Jhin were left in the field.
"Lucy! Listen! I want you to stop your experiment until the stampede is over. Focus on the mission I entrusted you. Can you do that?" Serg said.
Hearing him, Lucy was stunned. With a conflicted expression, she replied, "I will, but… I want to conduct my last experiment tonight."
With a facepalm, Serg shook his head and sighed, "Okay then! But you have to promise me that you'll do your best with the task I entrusted you."
"Sure!" Lucy nodded, then she pointed her slender hand forward, "How about giving me that man for my experiment?"
Following her finger, Serg saw a man from a strange race; his entire body was wrapped by a paper. Serg hesitated for a moment before reluctantly nodding.
