Chapter 173 - The God Tree

Seeing the four Bijuudama, the ninjas of the Alliance start to panic, but Hashirama quickly remind them that they only need to redirect them toward the ocean not block it, but just as they were about to raise the earth wall to do so, Obito, who heard them, says "Well, we can't have that..." and Gudōdama (Truth-Seeking Ball) floating behind his right hand is engulfed in red flame-like chakra.

Then he launches six black rods from his hand, each surrounded by the same red chakra, which strikes the ground at six points in his surroundings, Obito then makes the necessary hand seals and says "Musekiyōjin (Six Red Yang Formation)", the black rods then serve as the origin points for a gigantic red barrier that traps inside the Ninja Alliance.

After erecting the barrier, Obito uses the Gudōdama to form a black shield to protect himself, and as he is begin to be covered he says "The rest is a foregone conclusion now..." while Tobirama and Minato are discussing of to save as many as possible with their Hiraishin no Jutsu (Flying Thunder God Technique) to which Obito comments "Do you really think you can teleport the entire tree? More importantly do you think I'd just sit idly by and let it happen? You won't be able to save anyone".

But at that moment Naruto comes up with a plan and asks Minato to bump fist with him, seeing this once again Obito comments "Naruto, that man is utterly useless... He couldn't protect your mother... Or his very own pupil... Do you know what day tomorrow is? It's the day Minato and Kushina died... It's the anniversary of their death, when you die everything about you ceases... that is the cold, hard truth about the world... is that reall...".

But Naruto interrupts him and says "Oh yeah, then that makes tomorrow... My birthday, get it through that thick head of yours... Nothing's coming to an end as long as I'm still here! Let's do this dad!" then both Naruto and Minato enter into Kurama Chakra Mode, and as Naruto focuses on his new supply of Chakra, all the ninjas of the Alliance once again are protected by the Kyubi's Shourd.

And the next moment, Obito's tree shoots the four Bijuudama distorting the barrier's shape, forcing the brunt of the attack upwards while it was left completely intact and reformed to its original position, then coming out of his black cocoon, Obito look at the result of his attack and notices that everyone is safe outside of the barrier.

There, Naruto is explaining how he saved everyone using Minato's Hiraishin no Jutsu and connecting everyone to him using Kurama's Chakra as a medium, then Tobirama says "It's the same principle as the Kage Bushin (Shadow Clone) even if your Chakra is divided, as long as you leave a trace amount of it behind when the main body tries to manipulate the Chakra again, the divided Chakra will move in resonance with it, simply put, Naruto allowed his Chakra to come in direct contact with the Fourth's... Thus linking all the Ninja Alliance to him... Tell me if I've left any important details out, Naruto...".

But Naruto is confused "Eh?! That's how it works!?" and the Second Hokage "Just... Nevermind..." then Naruto compliments Tobirama "Wow, Second... I'm the one who invented it!!" meanwhile, Minato is proudly looking at Naruto with tears of joy coming out of his eyes.

Then Naruto jumping forward starting to transform into Bijuu Mode yells "My power's just oozin' all over the place! Let's do this!" but Tobirama says "Naruto, your fervor is admirable, but... there's no possible way that you forgot that on Senjutsu are effective, right? I mean that would put you on an entirely different level... Of idiocy...".

Hearing that Naruto stops and stays still for a few seconds before holding his head yelling "I TOTALLY FORGOT!!!" and Tobirama facepalming says "That settles it... I've actually found a bigger idiot than my brother" but then Kurama explains that he can use his Chakra and Sage mode at the same time, and so Naruto quickly does it.

Then he and Minato transform into Bijuu Mode and with Tobirama's Hiraishin no Jutsu, they attack Obito with a Senjutsu infused gigantic Rasengan, and Obito quickly uses his Chakra Hands to block it, but he is begin overwhelmed, so he uses a Gudōdama to block it, end even if the Gudōdama was broken by the Rasengan, Obito is successfully able to retreat.

Seeing that their Rasengan was blocked, Naruto decides to use a Senjutsu-infused Bijuudama, but Obito quickly chose to stop playing around and summon the Juubi which soon starts transforming into its Shinju (God Tree) Form, and at the same time Obito takes down the barrier he erected before.

The Shinju quickly expands and grew many branches that bind Naruto and Minato in their Bijuu Form and many other ninjas of the Alliance draining their Chakra and killing them, but luckily Hiruzen comes and frees Naruto before it's too late and Tobirama teleports them to safety, while Obito says "Just lay there quietly... Your suffering will soon come to an end...".

At the same time, Sakura notices that many ninjas are dying of Chakra Exhaustion including Shikamaru nearby, and orders Katusyu to use her clones to quickly rescue them while she takes care of Shikamaru, but Katsuyu replies that all her clones are already dead, and it's too late to save them.

Meanwhile, Obito tries to bring down their morale even more and force them to give up, while Hashirama with Ino's help is telling everyone to not give up, and just as the morale was at its lowest and Naruto was starting to doubt himself, Sasuke moves and with Humanoid Susanoo cuts the branch that was growing to bind the ninjas of the Alliance and says "Naruto... Is that all you got? I'm just getting started..." igniting once again his fighting spirit, and through the double connection of Kurama's Chakra and Ino's just sending his thoughts and feeling to everyone.

Once again entering Sage Kurama Mode he says "This time, I refuse to leave behind any regrets, I don't wanna look back and think, 'What might have been!!!' And everything we've done and endured up until now... All of it... I won't let it all go to waste!!" and he transforms into his Bijuu form and stans next to Sasuke's Susanoo as he says "So... should I explain how Senjutsu is the only thing that can hurt him?".

But Sasuke calmly replies "Unlike someone I know, I'm not slow on the uptake... Jugo!!" and from the distance, Jugo comes flying using his booster, enters Sasuke's Susanoo and starts spreading and merging his Cursed Mark.

At the same time the First Hokage Hashirama starts spreading to the Ninja Alliance his memories of the first Kage Summit and his dream for the future as he yells "Please! Everyone!!! Your feelings of pain... Helplessness... Despair... Let those feelings galvanize us!! Show me... The realization of my true dream!!!" and at the same time, the Five Kages and Jiraiya finally reached them and are ready to join in the final fight.
