Chapter 28

Sol chose to pretend to remain asleep, it was just the best option honestly and soon enough his father and older brothers took their leave.

As soon as he was sure that they were both gone, he shot upright with wide eyes.

Jade was just hurrying back in at that moment, his robes and wings haphazard.

He had escorted the King and Princes out of the Golden Castle and immediately hurried back to Sol.

"Did you hear all that the King said?" Jade cried as soon as he got to Sol’s bedside.

"How could I not?" Sol exclaimed as well, his eyes till wide.

Jade went silent like he was still trying to process just what had happened. There was no doubting the King's words because his Royal Majesty's words were the law, everyone knew that.

"Am I really going to Earth, Jade?" Sol whispered with a fragile expression, like if he spoke too loud, his dreams would shatter.

"Well you heard the King." Jade whispered, helping Sol out of bed and insisting he lean his weight on him.

"But that is not for you to worry about now, first you must get better or the King won't let you leave." He threatened lightly, leading the way to the bathrooms for the shaken up Prince to get cleaned up in.

Sol gasped tragically, absolutely believing Jade's words.

Jade knew very well that there was no changing the King's mind and even if Sol didn't recover fully in time, the journey would still happen on the appointed time.

Sol didn't need to know that though, it was the perfect tool to get his charge to do the needful things.

Jade didn't mind using his newfound tip to get Sol to eat well and go to bed early as well.

After the Prince was safely tucked in bed, the palace was in a flurry of motions.

Strangely, they didn't even need to pack up much, considering that fashion down on Earth was vastly different from the Heavenly Realm.

And where they would go down on Earth had already been contacted to provide what would be necessary.

King Rinon must have been aware that his third son was wide awake and merely pretending because he had waited till they were out of the room to give the full details to Jade.

They would be leaving at first light the next day, arrangements had already been made and only Jade would be required to follow along.

Jade had been relieved by that bit of information because he couldn't leave with himself if Sol was to go down to Earth all by himself just a day after he woke up from a coma.

He knew why the King had kept the information from Sol, knowing the excitable Prince, he wouldn't be able to do anything till they left for Earth.

Packing was done not too long after and before retiring, Jade made sure to check up on Sol, he couldn't be too careful.

Thankfully, Sol was already fast asleep. A quick check up showed that Sol was recovering particularly quick.

The glow to his skin had returned and other than looking a bit tired, he looked just as he did before but the gnarly scar on his side begged to differ.

Would things ever really go back to the way they were?

Sol was woken up the next morning long before dawn and his expression soured at this.

"I thought you were going on about me getting enough rest?" He accused his personal attendant, none too pleased.

"Well, you will have to make this exception, your Highness." Jade said patronizingly, tugging Sol off his bed even though he protested.

"And why is that? If anything, I should order for your head to be lopped off." He muttered darkly, squinting so hard that his eyes were two slits.

Jade hid his smile, this was what he was accustomed too, having a mini war just to get the Prince out of bed.

"I did think you really wanted to go to Earth but I suppose not." Jade said dramatically, shaking his head.

Sol immediately perked up at this, his eyes going wide. "What was that about going to Earth?" He demanded with narrowed eyes, letting Jade carefully help him off the bed.

"Well, clean up and then I'll tell you." Jade stalled.

Telling Sol now could backfire because he would become too hyper and then they wouldn't be able able get anything done.

Sol weighed this option gravely, was it worth his sleep?

"Fine." He accepted grudgingly, letting himself be led off.

He kept a grumpy expression on the entire time, his dark mood worsening when Jade made him eat first before he told him what he wanted to know.

"Now what is it?" He prompted impatiently when he was all done eating.

"We're going to Earth, you and I, right now." Jade said bluntly without mincing his words.

Sol could only gape, freezing up that Jade had to take his hand to help him up.

"A special carriage is already waiting outside the palace grounds, there is no time to waste." Jade hurried him.

Sol knew something was off when he was woken up so early with so much pressure in the air only to be cleaned up and worn informal clothes.

But he could never have guessed all of this.

"What??" He exclaimed, finally finding his voice.

They were already hurrying down the main hallways, no one really had their wings out in Sol's Palace so it wouldn't be an issue for them down on Earth.

"Right now?" He repeated, slowly processing Jade's words.

He wouldn't get to say goodbye to the King and his older brothers? He shouldn't have faked sleeping the day before.

He had a lot of questions but the urgency in the air didn't give a chance for it.

They got outside and a strange carriage was waiting outside, not the usual one that Sol always rode.

Now that he thought about it, he had no idea how they were going to get down to earth.

Could they just ride a carriage there? Was it really that easy?
