At the edge of a skyscraper, a young man could be seen seated, scrolling through his phone. His long tied back black hair covered the amused expression on his face.
After what felt like a few hours of scrolling, he got up to stretch himself, his eyes now on the large hole in the middle of the city, the labyrinth.
With a clear objective in mind, he took a step off, resulting in him plummeting towards the ground as he did so. The wind brushed against his hair, showing his violet eyes.
During that moment, a grin formed on his face as he muttered but a single word.
"Boom."
*VOOOM!*
The windows on the skyscrapers all shattered, the sound barrier was broken and he vanished, leaving behind no trace.

- December 11th, Current time.
"Attention, to the people of America. Attention."
The loud sounds of a broadcast, resounded across the city as all the digital screen displayed no one other than their president.
"This is a late announcement, I am sure I've kept you all waiting for far too long. The government, no, once again I am sure you are all confused as to why this is happening—"
The broadcast was being cut off, every few seconds, the image quality was horrible making him almost unrecognizable.
"The military is already on the move, we have secured many—- refugees during this time— Some of the locations have been revealed— The military will now prioritise rescuing operations— We are taking any families which are in dire need of assistance—
We have alot—— on our plates— Our team has greatly reduced— We're doing the best—— We can— We are unable to maintain things any further— This is our last announcement for now—— I mentioned this before—— But I'll say it again—— We can't do this without—— We, those with abilities—— Are the key——"
Those were his last words, before the broadcast caught off. However, it wasn't just the broadcast. All the power in the city had cut off too.
Gray hidden beneath on the top of another apartment floor, had been listening in very closely. Once the broadcast was finished, he quickly checked on his phone to make sure.
And just as he suspected, he was right. He wasn't getting any signal.
The power supply in the city had died out, as a result, so did the cell towers. As a result there was no cellular service.
"Shit… Even the mobile data…"
"Still It lasted far longer than we expected." Said Aurora, who was sat beside him.
She had a point, for it to have taken this long, must've meant something. Everything began on December the 2nd based on what Gray knew so for it to last 9 days like that, it was certainly something.
The government didn't just disappear like in the movies.
Gray breathed out a sigh, but for some reason he couldn't feel relief. Head to a refugee, drop of the kids, complete the quest then what? Focus on surviving in the middle of this apocalypse as he searched for his sister.
It sounded simple but it just felt like things weren't going to go as planned. It felt as if something bad was coming.
"The zombies are mutating… I just can't shake the bad feeling…" Gray muttered
It wasn't just the flying zombies which he was referring to, on their way to their currently location, he could see different types of abnormals on the roads, others on top of buildings even.
Some had their body radiating a strange red aura, while others had somehow developed bulky muscles and had grown to be twice the size of a regular zombie.
Not knowing what to say, Aurora could only lean against the anxious Gray, in hopes of comforting him.
From the outside the sound of a helicopter could be heard as it flew past.
On his way to where they were, Gray had also seen a few other helicopters fly past. He assumed they were carrying refugees or on an operation to rescue the people, so he tried signaling to them in hopes for them to help him reach the refugee.
However they didn't even bat an eye. Instead, they seemed to be heading towards where the labyrinth holes were.
Gray wanted to go investigate but he needed to keep a watch over Aurora and the kids since they were drained, so he put it off.
'I'll investigate it later.'
His eyes then proceeded to fall on the two kids in front of them.
They were asleep, the boy seemed to have exhausted all of his stamina earlier whilst protecting his sister so it was expected. His ability was much more powerful than Gray could have imagined, however just like Aurora, he lacked control.
The girl on the other hand, had shown no signs of waking up until now. She slept soundly even amidst all the chaos.
"Even whilst sleeping, he's still holding on to her." Said Gray as he stared at their hands.
The young boy had never let go. For some reason, the sight made his heart ache.
Hearing this, Aurora let out a little giggle.
"Brothers are like that, how nice…" She muttered, her expression seemingly void of emotions. Almost as if she had recalled something which she didn't want to.
Seeing it, he couldn't help but wonder why she was making such an expression.
'Maybe she had a brother?' He assumed.
Thinking back on it, Gray didn't really know nearly anything about Aurora, the two had barely talked before and have been recently too preoccupied to talk. Maybe now was the best moment to ask. He turned towards her,
"Hey, Aurora-"
Gray was interrupted by the sound of shuffling. Turning to it, he found the young girl stood up, right in front of him. Her eyes closed shut and her expressions blank.
"…?"
Without saying anything, he watched as she raised her hand and placed it on his shoulder.
In that instant, his eyes widened.

There Gray stood in the middle of the city, floating above one of the labyrinth holes, his body seemingly transparent.
"Huh-"
*KABOOM!*
A loud explosion which shook the grounds, came from the sky. Turning his head to the source, his pupils diluted. A large floating naval fleet floated a few hundred meters directly above him.
However, that wasn't just the only one. All over the city, different types of fleets could be seen.
Following that, A girl, wielding a large golden gemmed war Axe could be seen dropping from the sky, heading straight towards him.
She had long black hair tied by two red ribbons into twin tails, golden irises and two long black horns, the top half of which being red. Her clothes were unusual, almost as if she was co splaying and her Axe, nearly twice her size.
"What in the fuck-?"
*SWOOSH!*
