Cora couldn't believe she not only broke down in front of Ace but actually told him part of the truth. She had barely managed to do that with her therapist. Doing it with her SOULMATE?! She was completely out of her mind!

He had worn her down. He was way too nice about her unintentionally ruining his day, as always, and just hung around doing his own thing to make sure she wasn't alone on a day he knew was hard for her without knowing why. He had been too kind. Too patient. Too understanding without having a clue what was actually going on.

The anniversary and Janelle's birthday were the only days Cora allowed herself to purposely think of her lost friend since it always made her upset. They were the only days she busted out the pictures and videos they took or drew her. The only days she fully allowed herself to drown in grief.
