He Didn't Expect Much Out Of Her

Ace was in a very good mood as January turned to February even with the uncertainty about the Coral/Cora situation. He wasn't expecting her to call him.

"What's up?" he asked in surprise.

She let out a heavy sigh, sounding extremely reluctant. "Are you busy right now?"

"I'm at work. Why?"

"My car won't start."

Ah. She called him because she was having car problems and knew he was a mechanic. That was a big concession coming from someone as fiercely independent as her.

"Where are you?" Ace asked.

"My work's parking lot. I was supposed to be leaving for the day but that obviously isn't going to happen now."

"And I take it you don't have a membership when you can get free towing."

"…that's a thing?"

Now Ace wanted to sigh heavily. She really didn't know anything about cars aside from that they needed gas to go, did she? She was hopeless.

"Have you tried jumping it?"

"No."
