Her choice was.. something. If I could chose between getting defiled by one man or countless others. I would’ve chosen the one no matter the hatred. Maybe he would even have been easier on her if she submitted. She could’ve always escaped later. Her choice wasn’t very wise, if you ask me.

GingerAllieAne:I think the point the author was trying to make was that regardless of what the crown prince subjected Aries through (murdering her family, killing her people, defiling her body, etc.) Aries was beyond submitting to such a vile person. She didn’t want to give up her power of choice. I know it’s not a pretty picture but it’s powerful in letting the reader understand that Aries would not submit to the crown prince regardless of the punishment. Her will is strong and that is the only reason she survived the ordeal. If it wasn’t for the calamities, there wouldn’t be a story where two people who’ve gone through unimaginable horrors were able to find redemption and love. Just my 2 cents.
