Chapter 1- Addie – Things Are Changing (VOLUME 3)

**ADDIE'S POV**

So much has happened to me in the last two years. Since the day that I turned eighteen and was taken away from the only home that I had ever known, I had been through so much. Honestly, I think that if anyone other than me had gone through these things, they might have ended up losing their sense of self. It was likely just the added protection of my magic, and the personalities that I used to be living inside of me, that helped me through those difficult times.

Something I didn't tell people often, and that I rarely liked to admit to myself, is that I sometimes will sit there at night, in the darkness of my room, and talk to my past selves. I won't talk out loud, that would be problematic. I always had at least one guard or attendant that was listening in while I was supposed to be sleeping, just in the event that I needed something through the night.
