In Greek mythology the Gods were deciding what the mortals shall offer to them as tribute. Prometheus knew this was a problem as he knew Zeus would want the meat. This would cause humans to starve to death. So Prometheus but the meat in one hand and bones hidden under glistening fat under another. Zeus choose the bones under the temptation of the fat but realized Prometheus’ trickery too late. So as punishment Zeus stripped humans of fire. Prometheus saw this as a problem so he stole fire from forge of Hephaestus and gave it to man. Zeus was enraged but he decided to use some trickery of his own. With the help of Aphrodite, Athena, and Hephaestus he created the first human woman, Pandora. Aphrodite blessed her with beauty, Hephaestus created her, and Athena cursed her with curiosity. Zeus presented her to Epimetheus, the brother and total opisite of Prometheus. Epimetheus was strucken by her beauty and married Pandora. Prometheus warned Epimetheus to accept no gift from Zeus but Epimetheus ignored his warning. Zeus gifted Epimetheus a box that was filled with all the evils of the world. Zeus warned him never to open the box. Pondora nearly opened the box on three ocasions but stopped due to guilt of what her husband would think. After the third attempt curiosity got a hold of her and she was attacked by the evils of the world in the shape of moths. Epimetheus walked in too late and closed the box. When they opened the box again hooe flew out in the shape of a butterfly. It was after this incident that Prometheus was chained to a rock for his liver to be eaten out daily by a eagle.
