Made To Be Enlightened: Chapter 18

-Dot-

Each of us stared at the screen with silent intensity. We'd seen plenty of educational videos, but this was something else entirely.

This was a heartbreaking tale of a young woman trapped in an eternal garden by her father and guarded by the sun. For centuries, a wolf watched her silently, biding his time, hoping to meet her. One day, the sun had his back turned during an eclipse, and the wolf was finally able to meet the woman. At first glance, she immediately fell in love with the wolf and returned his feelings.

When the sun finally realized what had happened, it was too late. The woman was already pregnant. When she gave birth to her human child, the sun was enraged, for he too was in love with the woman, so he killed the wolf.

The woman was so distraught, the world turned dark and she fled to the heavens after hiding her child in the shadows. But each day, the sun chased after her, shining light to try to find her and her child on Earth.

But the woman was tricky and did all she could to protect the child. She gave them the ability to turn into a wolf like their father, so they could run just as quickly and stealthily from the sun. Many centuries passed, and the child eventually reproduced, and those children reproduced, and those even more, until eventually, werewolves as we know today existed.

The movie ended with a haunting scene of a wolf, silhouetted by the full moon, and howling into the night. A pained and heartbreaking howl that made my chest hurt.

"That's the story of the Moon Goddess." Waya spoke as the screen turned black.

I shook my head, trying to shed the sad feeling in my heart. It was then I realized the tears in the corner of my eyes.

"That's so sad." Blue sniffled.

"That's why we pray to the Moon Goddess." Waya looked at each of us with a compassionate expression. She patted the curled up figure of Spots, who was snuggled against her side.

"She protects." Sweetie nodded wisely.

I pursed my lips. How could something so fantastical be true?

"Hey guys." I turned to the door at Koda's bright voice.

My daddy trailed behind him and shot me with a protective stare. Quickly, I wiped my eyes and looked away. I don't know why, but I didn't want him to see me crying.

"We brought some popcorn for you all." He smiled, and I finally noticed the bowls on both of the men's arms. Something buttery reached my nose, and I instantly knew I wanted whatever was in the bowls.

"What a good idea!" Waya cooed. "We're gonna watch something happier. We just learned about the Moon Goddess."

A bowl plopped down into my crossed legs, and I leaned back to see the Alpha leaning forward as he pulled away. Our eyes met for an instant, and my stomach fluttered when he did that peculiar action of blinking one eye closed with a silly smirk. I didn't know what it meant, but it made my heart seize with pleasure.

"Do you need anything else?" Koda asked hopefully. His eyes darted to Spots. Spots blushed profusely as he twirled a lock of his dark hair in his fingers.

Waya snorted. "Don't try to weasel your way in here. I told you: Omegas only tonight."

"We'll be around." My daddy nodded once in a finite fashion as he tugged at the smaller male.

"We're staying the night here too!" Koda all but shouted from the doorway.

The door swung shut, and immediately, all of the Omegas burst with giggles. Spots hid his red face in his hands, and I realized what all the laughter was about. Koda was Spots's daddy.

I couldn't help but join the other's giggling. It seemed that Spots was given to a Daddy who didn't give off the impression of hurting him. In fact, the way they acted toward one another was actually silly, like they liked each other. At least I didn't have to worry about him anymore. Would the other Omegas be as lucky?

Though my first introduction with my daddy was dreadful, he hadn't acted the same since. A little voice in the back of my head told me he could always revert back to that, but for now he wasn't harming me.

But for how long would that continue?
