Engel's gaze deeply furrowed as he stared at Nevaeh, and the golden light wrapped around her, but they furrowed deeper at the tears of fear trickling down her face as her frantic gaze darted around her body.
"Engel.. what's happening to me?" She cried out, her eyes begging him to do something about it. She was so horrified, and her fear tore at his heart like cold steel plunging through him.
"Don't cry." He told her, his voice almost in a plea, but the calmness lingering in it contrasted with the emotion flickering in his eyes.
"Take my hand." He stretched his hand towards her, but Nevaeh shook her head as she shriveled back.
"I-I can't. What if it hurts you?" She moved her hands even further away as if coming to the realization that she could hurt him.
