Rewards, Rewards, And The End Of The Quest (1)

While having a wild and sweaty battle against a strong boss is fine, getting the fruits of your labor is also fine! What's even more fine is getting those extremely great countermeasures against these said bosses.

In short, hard counters. It's always fun to think of ways where you could obliterate your opponents who abuses some kind of META, isn't it?

People could be extremely salty about it, too, which only makes other people want to think up of a way to screw with them even more. I'm not talking about those Techies players of course.

Those guys have always needed some brain therapy. They're sick on the head for playing that hero that's basically made of sadists.

I'm not a sadist so I don't use it, of course.

(Shun's POV)

"Hey everyone! I got something good! It's called [Sky Eyes]!" It was Mutsuko-san's voice announcing her acquisition of a Sense that I and Rikka are very familiar with.

The HP of the bosses are already nearing critical levels so I guess that's just perfect timing?

Why, you ask? Well, we also have it. Rikka have it at level 15 while mine's only at level 10.

I remember her saying something about it being like the eye skill from a basketball anime she knew. I don't know what she was talking about at the time since I was more interested by the utility the said Sense could provide.

For example, I myself have been using it to heal everyone in my team. That's one of the effects of getting one of its active skill [Zone] which allows us to target multiple players all at once.

That aside, everything about this battle is going so well. Despite our clear disadvantage in numbers, we compensated by the huge firepower we have.

I underestimated these bosses. It's unexpectedly very sturdy so it took some time to lower its HP to our desired level.

Not only that but I heard that there was a certain problem about this boss. When its HP bar reaches a certain point and you didn't deal the finishing blow, this guy will fire lasers from all of its eyes non stop for half an hour or so. It cancels out any attack and magic aimed at it when it takes that form while also dealing absurd amounts of damage.

Shizuka-nee sounds very worried when she told us about it. They themselves are still stuck waiting for this monster to stop its attack.

Its only weak point was on top of its head but it was basically impossible to reach that point. While I was thinking of such things, I heard a voice communication coming from Mutsuko-san.

『Shun-kun, the [Great Eater] on our side is already low. It seems like crowd control barely works on this guy now. What do we do now?』

"Wait. The [Great Eater] on our side is also already low. Pull it towards our direction and we will do the same. After that, we'll all attack it simultaneously…"

『Okay, roger that.』

After ending the call with Mutsuko-san, I looked at the [Great Eater] who's now flailing its arms everywhere and at the members of my team who's still relentless in their offense. I then opened up the voice communication and said, "Everyone, let's commence the final part of our game plan. Kaede-san, I will buff you with an [Enchant] to your SPEED and DEFENSE while you pull the [Great Eater] towards Team 2. Everyone else, recover your health and mana for our last attacks."

In response to my commands, everyone replied with a, "Roger that!"

"Well Sara, this is your time to shine. Could you do what we practiced today again?" I said while looking at the little white snake who's hiding on my scarf named Sarasvati.

As if understanding what I said, Sara bobbed her tiny head up and down before looking at the [Great Eater] with clear determination within its eyes. While Kaede-san is pulling the [Great Eater] I provided her with support and, eventually, the [Great Eater] that Hino-san and Lucato-san are pulling finally arrived to the location we talked about before even starting this raid.

"Everyone, go replenish your health and mana for a bit and let me, Kaede-san, and the others manage these two. Once you're back, we could start final attacks on these two."

I said so while looking at Miu, Lucato-san, Hino-san, and Mutsuko-san who are surrounding Team 2's [Great Eater]. Miu and Mutsuko-san are supporting Lucato-san and Hino-san with their heals and enchants.

While the four was away, Kaede-san was obviously having a hard time tanking the damage of the two [Great Eaters]. She was taking so much damage so she used [Shield Skill — Fortress] immediately once it got off cooldown.

"Haa—! "Delta Slash", nanodesu!"

""Backstab"~…"

Pochi, Tama, and me were there to support her by taking the aggro from her and letting her recover her cooldowns and health but, as expected, it's hard to take on two raid bosses at the same time. If I could transform in my [NWO] character here, I could've ended this fight in an instant. If only I could do that.

While we were placed in a very precarious situation, Miu, Lucato-san, Mutsuko-san, and Hino-san finally finished replenishing their HP and MP and is now ready to help us. They came in with a bang as they used some skill to help us out.

Hino-san, Miu, and Lucato-san for example used their skills that applies armor break to the bosses they attacked. Armor break basically lowers a target's armor, similar to my [Arrow Stitching], which I also spam alongside my other skills.

""Break Hammer"—!"

"Haaa! "Fifth Breaker"!"

""Fifth Breaker"!"

In response to their attacks, everyone also started to raise their DPS by using their low cooldown skills whenever they are off cooldown like the [Fire Element Talent's] [Fireball] or my [Bow] Sense's [Arts] like [Long Distance Shooting] and [Twin Needles]. As our assault on the two bosses intensified, the numbers on their HP bars also began dipping fast.

Their high HP regeneration is already failing them as we all made it our mission to destroy each and every eye around their bodies, basically leaving them with only their base HP regeneration, which, don't get me wrong, is extremely high. However, since we have the glass cannon named Satanichia, my newly developed combo, and our nonstop onslaught of [Arts], [Skills], [Spells], and basic attacks that we throw everytime they're off cooldown, their HPs were being depleted before it could even regenerate.

It was then that something unexpected happened. Maybe because they didn't like the fact that they couldn't crush this pesky angel looking cute girl, they became extremely enraged.

Yes. The two bosses, which was being kept at bay by our tanks, attacked Kaede-san and Kaede-san alone, for some odd reason.

""GuUraaAaaA!!!!""

They both raised their feet off the ground, in a serious attempt to trample over our main tank. Unfortunately for them, there was someone who didn't like this.

*BOOOOOOM*

Azure colored aura enveloped Kaede-san's shield as it transform into a shield reminiscent of a dragon with the mixed appearance of a western and an eastern one.

It has whiskers but it also has deer-like horns. It has the sharp features seen in western dragons, making it look extremely intimidating.

Along with the change of her shield and the aura surrounding it, Kaede-san also got covered by this aura that weirdly seem like the flowing water and a burning fire at the same time. Because of this aura and the shield, when both of the attacks landed on her, she was not harmed in any way.

In fact, when the feet of both of the monsters hit Kaede-san's shield, it expanded to the exact size on which it could block the two giants' feet. Then, the aura began encroaching on their feet and started melting it.

Like a fire with a slimy property, it consumed and burned the [Great Eater's] black colored skin. It was so burned that, instead of remaining in its original inky black color, it turned into the black color of a charcoal.

"Wha—!? Eh!? Eeeehh!? Is this your doing, Taffy!?" Kaede-san knew that Taffy had some kind of power that could help take down the bosses but she never expected that Taffy could also protect her from danger like this. Well, in hindsight, it does make sense since Taffy seems to have the elements of both fire and water, with water being depicted in some video games as this jack of all trades type of element.

"RoooOooAaaRr!"

A dragon's roar echoed in the surroundings, startling everyone including our group. However, when I saw that, I knew that this was the perfect opportunity to strike.

"Everyone, get ready to strike! On the count of ten, release all of your strongest skills, spells, and arts to any of these two [Great Eaters]!" I shouted on the top of my lungs while poking the head of the little white snake that was hiding on my scarf.

"Sara, let's do it."

"Ssss!"

After nodding at me with enthusiasm, my body got covered in this white-ish aura that blew the grass below me. As it swirled around my body, I could see some occasional streaks of white lightning.

"Am I a Super Saiyan now?" I mumbled absentmindedly.

"Ssss!"

"Oh, right. Sorry, sorry." I was so distracted with my new aura that I forgot to get ready for the attack. As I tried to refocus myself, my gaze landed on my bow which turned into an even more fancier long bow.

The limbs turned into pure white and the middle section is now akin to a mouth of an elegant white dragon. The tips of the limbs look like some feathery wings while the entire bow string looks like arcs of lightning that connects the two limbs.

Knowing full well that I should remain focused, I took out five [Iron Arrow +10] from my quiver before calmly aiming at the two [Great Eaters] which are now sandwiched together due to Hino-san hitting the [Great Eater 2] with [Shock Impact], pushing it slightly towards the [Great Eater 1].

This was the perfect opportunity!

"Everyone! On the count of 10, release all of your attacks!"

I immediately rushed towards the side of the [Great Eater 1], accompanied by the still cheerful looking Tsuka, Pochi, and Tama.

2…

Rikka, Rokuko, and and Mutsuko-san went to the back of the [Great Eater 2].

3…

Satania-san and Fenny began chanting as they looked at the two giants with full concentration.

7…

8…

While weaving through the tentacles that tried to smash us to the ground, I finally arrived at the side of the [Great Eater 1]. Without minding the attacks that are coming at me, I calmly aimed towards the center of the [Great Eater's] body.

"Everybody, FIRE!"

At my signal, I released the five arrows after casing [Shotgun Barrage] and casting five [Lower Matter Conversions] at the iron arrows almost instantaneously. Right then and there, I saw a beautiful sight of fifty little white feathered dragons flying towards the [Great Eater] at blistering speeds with the claps of thunder and lighting on their wake.

After that… There was only destruction…

*BOOOOOOOOM!*

This is all possible because of a little white snake hiding in my scarf.

"Sleep well, Sara. Tomorrow, we will play a lot before the event ends…"
