Trial (5)

Aurora opened her door and stepped out ready to do anything to help save the little ones. She knew her words won't matter to the people here but what else could she do when  Artemis didn't care? Whether she won or lost today, the important thing was that she tried her best. That won't mean much to the little girls but it was all she could do.

"I feel guilty for recommending this trial. I don't know what I was thinking when I knew what could happen today. I really hope a miracle happens," Jane said as she held Aurora's hand to help her get out of the carriage. "My guilt will eat me alive if I don't. I'm stuck between scolding myself and hitting Derek over the head for allowing them to follow him. When he gets released, I'm going to strangle him."
