"I can't remember the last time that I was here. We used to be able to run around the property as we pleased and enter any room. We used to play dress-up in Minnie's room until she banned us," Aurora recounted all the good memories she had here. Even though she wasn't allowed to leave, her life was not all that boring. She, Samuel, and Regina all had fun running around and playing with each other.
"To be young again and aware of the things around us. I would love to go back to that time. Why must we all grow up? I am tired of hearing of marriage, suitors, dresses, shoes, and all the stupid things my mother tries to shove in my face. I understand she is trying to set me up for a good future but look at this," Regina said, meaning their home. They weren't short on money for her to need to be desperate to marry a man for his wealth. "How much more money do we need? We haven't even touched the money locked away with the family heirlooms."
Aurora started to search around the room while Regina spoke. "It's also about your reputation. The girls who fail to marry at a young age are often talked about by everyone. I wonder why no man has married her. She's getting too old. Maybe it's her personality. It's stupid but they believe the younger you marry the better."
"Sounds like a whole bunch of perverts to me. We start training to be a wife from the time we are eight. I've spent most of my life preparing to be perfect for a man I might not even care for. Does that really make sense to anyone? If I marry and my husband suddenly dies, I did it," Regina confessed in the beginning. There was no doubt about it that Aurora would help cover for her. "I'm truly becoming Minnie."
"I've heard you say that so many times that I am not appalled by it anymore. And your ability to joke about Minnie and grandfather after just crying about it amazes me."
"Tell me more of what the werewolf in your head is like. Does he sound charming, handsome, seductive? Minnie had a tiara and this does not surprise me at all. In another life, Minnie was probably a queen and a part of her still wants to live like one," Regina said, closing back the box which contained the tiara.
"I don't want to talk about him in case he is eavesdropping." It would be an embarrassing situation if she complimented him and he made his presence known that he had been listening to her the entire time. It was a total violation of her privacy and she wished there was some other way of knowing he was in her head without her being hurt.
"It kind of sounds cool to have your lover speaking to you in your head."
Aurora turned around to look at Regina because she never mentioned anything about being lovers. She didn't even know the man or what he looked like. How on earth could they be lovers? "We are not lovers Regina. We're just…I don't know what it is but it cannot be love."
"Come on Aurora. This screams a romance between you and the wolf. He promises to protect you from this family and talks to you seductively. Lovers in my eyes you sneaky mink. When did you have time to run off and find love? Then again, everyone always says love is the strongest thing in the world. The heart knows what it wants and nothing would be able to stop you from meeting your lover. It's a shame you forgot about it," said Regina.
"I still don't see us being lovers, friends, or even acquaintances. I rarely leave this place. Let's say I did meet him and forgot the one or two times, that's not enough for me to fall in love with a werewolf. Not that there's anything wrong with a werewolf, " Aurora added in case he was listening.
"It's strange you can't remember meeting him outside of your dream or whatever it was. Maybe you met him in another life and he still remembers you or something? I wouldn't be surprised if that's what is happening."
"Another life?" Aurora wondered. It was plausible they did meet in a past life. The romance Regina was talking about and the chanting of people wanting to burn her. She did not remember any of them happening. The chanting felt so real but maybe it wasn't her. It could have been a past life and for some reason, she was remembering it. It wouldn't be hard to believe considering she can make plants grow. "That might be the answer. But still, how did Minnie learn about the wolf, and does she know about what I can do?"
There were things she was looking to get the answer to when she met the wolf at the harvest moon festival. She had a feeling she couldn't avoid meeting him on that day no matter how much she tried. The festival was in two days and her heart rushed in excitement and nervousness at the same time. If he wanted her to even consider going anywhere with him, he needed to tell her the truth about everything first and it had to make sense with what she was feeling so far.
"Looks like our dear grandmother has been keeping track of all the articles regarding our family and the business. How does she have so much time on her hands to collect and read these? I don't even think great-grandfather was alive when this article came out. I guess it shows how much she cares about our family history. Huh? Did you know we were in debt once before?" Questioned Regina looking at a paper which was titled, "Is the Hamilton family going broke?"
"No, I've never heard that before. You would never think the people who live here once experienced going broke."
