Chapter 33

Jake got up, finally happy that he could go back to school. It had been almost two months since he had seen any of his party members, even if they didn't know it. But before that, he had to make it through the day cultivating. Was re-opening the shop today, which was an amazing change of pace from fighting or working on hard metal. For Jake, making jewelry was fun and relaxing, but with the schedule he was keeping and sheer difficulty of shaping the metal was too much not to be stressful. Now he could peacefully open up the shop and relax for a bit before going back into the action.

He opened up the shop, but only got a few sales that totaled 3 gold, which was pretty good for a day's work. He knew that with his new ring cultivating would be easy, but he didn't have the emotional energy to power through the pain. Jake had alway thought that when increasing stats it would make him mentaly stronger somehow; But at the end of the day he was still a mortal with a fragile mind.

He was relaxed, and only for a second it felt… Peaceful.

But it was strangely uncomfortable. Before he had awakened he was excited to embark on an adventure, and even though having two at the same time is more than he bargained for, it was way better than sitting back and slowly going through life. Relaxing was something that he loved doing at one time, but just a few weeks later he had completely changed. He was no longer an average student with a somewhat meaningless existence, he had already killed for his spot in the worlds and would do it a thousand times over to keep going.

He couldn't develop bloodlust like most people, but his instinct to survive and grow had become so large that resting didn't feel right. He couldn't go the whole day without cultivating the gold bar he had in his inventory. At the end of the day Jake immediately went to sleep, just wanting to get back to school. A mage Jake didn't recognize awoke him with a healing spell. Jake had already checked his injuries in the cultivation world, so he knew it wasn't bad, just a few scratches and a bump on the head.

"He has a student dungeon card, how did he get here anyway?"

"It seems that the dungeons swapped. But my dungeon break ability will be on cooldown for a bit, so we can't get them back."

"We can't take them into the guild building, we can't risk them talking about the thing."

"Don't say that now you idiot, we are in front of them."

"Shouldn't we just knock them out and then send them back?"

"Let's just talk to them first, it's my fault they got into this. Why don't they at least "

The ork swordsmen that caused the dungeons to mutate squatted down near where Lexy was sitting and Jake was laying.

"I am Sky the third, leader of the special group in the Skyfall guild. B-Rank. I can mutate dungeons into entirely new ones, and it seems that the two dungeons have swapped, and are going to merge soon."

"Jake, and she is Lexy, we are both first year's at Skyscraper Uni."

"Skyscraper… Nice. We do demonstrations there sometimes. They are just a few hours away so we can get you there. But we rea-"

The ground began to rumble again.

[Dungen Merge Successful]

[Slime Golem Warscape][Field Type][LV2]

Dungeon was normally in the title, but instead it had "warscape," meaning that the monsters were fighting each one on one, without factions. They were standing in the middle of the grassy area when humanoid slimes began to rise from the ground.

They were only a little worried as they had a total of seven people, with four C-Ranks, a B-Rank, and two unranked. The slimes had different sizes and colors which represented their stat distribution, element, and overall power. Most of them would only be level 10-15, but the field boss could get up to level 30 or 40 if it had time to grow.
