"I… I should be thankful." Samuel muttered.
"Thankful? Why? What did I do to make you feel that way?" Bradley didn't stop his questions just there.
"S-Sir." Samuel trembled. "I should… Feel thankful because y-you are giving me… s-something, and I shall receive it."
"Why can't you say it properly then?" Bradley asked, stirring a series of emotions inside Samuel's chest.
Samuel knew he was scared of Bradley. He also wanted to please him. He wanted to make him proud. He also wanted to run away. He also wanted to end him.
He wasn't sure what he wanted. He really wasn't sure.
"Sir…" He needed to at least desire something. "I shall be loyal to you. You shall ask for me, and I shall appear. You shall order me, and I shall oblige. Hence," He gulped, wondering if it was him saying all of this. "Hence, I believe I shall feel thankful for your existence as you are my guardian, and I am your pupil."
