Chapter 53

Under the authority of a trailmaster called Boggs, ten wagons started out from St. Joseph, Missouri, much later in the year than was customary and delayed at Fort Ramson to await the arrival of spring. Courting an additional fee, the trailmaster induced three families bound for Yawktown to proceed the remaining hundred and fifty miles to Fort Yanube.
