“That’s a close one.”
“Yeah,” Milo agreed before he pointed at the backyard. “I think I can feel Mariana’s magic now. She must be in her backyard somewhere.”
Kenta noticed the sadness that Milo was trying to conceal, and he patted his mate’s arm gently. “You don’t have to face her if you aren’t sure that you can do it.”
Milo shook his head. “I know, but I have to. Besides, who knows what other traps she has set up out there? I can’t let you go out there and face her on your own. No matter how powerful you are, that will be too dangerous. Aside from Mariana’s incredible magical strength, she’s also well-known among magic users for her intelligence.”
Kenta didn’t bother to point out that he wasn’t a fool, and he wasn’t lacking magic. Milo knew all that. Kenta was aware that Milo was just worried about him so he smiled widely at his mate.
“Okay then. Let’s get rid of her once and for all.”
