Zach stopped by and gave him a break at eleven and he grabbed a burger and fries from the kitchen taking only fifteen minutes to eat. By the time the evening ended and the last patron was shooed out the door it was almost three a.m. He got his side work done and his station restocked by three thirty and he went to find Keith or Zach to check his section of the bar.
Jason saw Zach first so Zach came after him to take a look. He looked at the sinks, the drain, and the bottles. “It looks like you sat here doing nothing all night even though I know you ran your ass off. The others are barely started, how did you finish so fast?”
“I used to do a lot of the cooking because Ann worked and was tired at night. Ann taught me to cook and to clean as I go along, so that’s what I do. I try to spend a few minutes here and there to get the side work done so I can get home to Kitty.”
