Chapter 18

“Dylan, I apologize for what happened earlier. I didn’t mean to come across as condescending. I was simply worried that something would happen to you.”

He eyed the vampire in disbelief.

“I’m a witch. I can protect myself. Besides, I was the one who detected the bombs and saved your ass, remember?”

“Yes. I’m really sorry though.”

He huffed a little before relenting.

“Apology accepted. Just…don’t do it again.”

“I can’t promise you that. I will always be worried about your safety.”

“Fine, but tone it down, please.”

“I will try my best.”

He rolled his eyes and nodded. The drive back home was quiet, but it was no longer filled with tension. They even held hands for the remaining ten minutes of the journey. He calmed down further. Hopefully, their next meeting would be much better.
