“I wasn’t going to ask. Regardless, it’s nice to know. I’m curious, though. You are unusually tall and muscular for a man born into your era.”

“Believe me, I was a spectacle back then. Most thought that I was part-giant or something. I am guessing it’s a combination of genetics and the ample food provided by my boss. My father was rather tall, too.”

“They didn’t believe in shaving or waxing back then?”

“No, they didn’t. Strangely enough, my facial hair didn’t grow as quickly as the rest of me, which was really hairy.”

“So you were turned into a vampire with that perpetual five o’clock shadow on your face?”

“Yeah, but that happened when I was twenty-five. We were considered old by then.”

“Who bit you?”

“A wandering vampire. He no longer exists either. A witch eliminated him when he went feral.”

“Why did he turn feral?”
