“Sure, why not? I just spent nine months setting up this cover. My former friends don’t acknowledge they know me and my family isn’t even talking about it. That’s some pretty heavy stuff. Why throw it away now? Even after I get to the bottom of this case—and I will.” She looked Deems straight in the eye, “There’s still some use in it.”
“But if you go back to the prison now, there may be people there who suspect that you were the pigeon. You could be risking your life unnecessarily.” Paul looked to Deems for agreement.
“But if I don’t go back, they’ll know it was me. We don’t know everyone on the outside, do we? At least inside I know who to look over my shoulder for. Outside, I’m flying blind.”
“We can make it look like we charged you like the others and got you shipped to a maximum security…” Pauly said.
