“Give it up, Krakowsky.”

He leered. “I will when you will.” He grinned.

Cam smiled sweetly at him. “What’s the temperature in Hades?”

“Then how about a ride? Tomorrow’s Saturday, you and me. We’ll go up through Pennsylvania, pack a picnic lunch and a blanket. Talk about the powerful machine between our legs.”

“Get off my desk.” Cam had heard it all, and put up with most of it, even when she was seething underneath.

“Come on. You gave Russ a ride and I’ve seen you tooling around town with that pansy from the Seventh Precinct on back. What? He’s got something I ain’t got?”

“Yeah, he’s got a brain.” Cameron fumed. He was really pushing the limits now. “Get. Off. My. Desk.” She articulated each word. “Is there some word here that you’re not familiar with?”

“You molesting my partner?” Russ had just come through the office door.

“I wish.” Steve sauntered back toward his desk. “Probably be the best she’s had in a long time.”
