Chapter 38: Heavy rain start

Bai Yi Yang job today is really quite tiring even for her strong bone. Bai Yi Ling didn't wait for her and cook lunch in advance, but because they all waited for her to eat lunch together, the children has been eating snacks. They end up eating a little during lunch. They has loss their appetite because of eating too much snacks. Bai Yi Yang was feeling guilty and she ate a lot of the stir fry vegetables Bai Yi Ling made.

"It's delicious." She praise. Bai Yi Ling smile sweetly and continue eating, she didn't mind the two children who is slowly chewing their food. Let them regret it later and ask food, she won't give it until dinner time.

"Next time remember to return before lunch." Bai Yi Chen said.

"I was carried away with my work." Bai Yi Yang said as he wash the dishes.

Bai Yi Yang told the young ones to take a bath since it will start raining soon and it will be cold to bath later. Her instinct told her that it will rain heavily by evening until midnight, then it will stop for a while before raining again during early morning around 2.30 am. Then the rain will fall non stop, it might even bring flood to some area.

"You show me later and I will go pick the finished wood." Bai Yi Chen said again.

"Its not far. Ge, then I will trouble you to bring it inside, its just really near the entrance of the forest we usually go." Bai Yi Yangs said.

"En, I will go pick it later." Bai Yi Chen nod.

"Ge, your emotions.. is okay now?" Bai Yi Yang carefully ask. Bai Yi Chen movement stops before he acts like usual.

"I am okay..you think too much.." He said. Actually, he is okay, maybe just feeling conflicted, and he is not angry with Bai Yi Yang for having different view as him. He is just feeling shy facing her this morning, that's why he act much mire colder.

"What okay..you even ran away from home last night..skips breakfast with us.." She mumbled but Bai Yi Chen quickly fake a cough. He heard all of that okay, can't they just stop talking about this?

"I was just thinking by myself…and this morning, I just wanted to inspect the road if they are accessible or not because of yesterday heavy rain.." Bai Yi Chen explain.

"Ohhh…you should have told me…I finished two and a half books for nothing to coax you." Bai Yi Yang smile. Bai Yi Chen sigh and stops washing dishes.

"Yang Yang, I think I understand your point of view. But for our parents, we need to at least finish high school okay?"Bai Yi Chen said.

"I had promised you last night, I won't go back with my words. Let's see, I will beat you in the next exam. No, I will even beat the best student in our class." Bai Yi Yang said, feeling determined.

"You mean the class monitor?" Bai Yi Chen has a small smile on his face, it's not only Bai Yi Yang, he himself wanted to beat Su Long, so he laugh. It's not easy ah, Su Long is the most dedicated in his study, unless he also put in extra effort, he can't beat him.

"Eh?" Bai Yi Yang said, so the best student is also a class monitor, so capable ah.

"Su Long is really one that is hard to beat. I bet he already finished the next semester syllabus in advance. Yang Yang, if you can beat him, the whole class will bow to you." Bai Yi Chen chuckled.

'Ohh…is this Su Long her long lost rival?' In the other world, her rival is Bai Yi Chen, Bai Yi Chen mostly wins but she also has beat him a few times. In this world, she is confident that she can beat Bai Yi Chen with her knowledge, of course, it would be shameful if she lose to a 16 years old kid right? Bai Yi Chen saw the fire in Bai Yi Yang eyes, he is happy that Bai Yi Yang has the spirit to study again, it doesn't matter wether she can beat Su Long or not. Bai Yi Yang is usually place between 7-9th place and he usually placed between 3-5th place, whereas Su Long is the all time No.1. Even before they enter the QiYing High School, he has always been No.1, no one has ever beat him in their batch. What more, he is also No.1 in all the town nearby. He is really a hard one to beat. The nearest he have been to Su Long is by being No.3 in class, that was last year in their junior high school year.

"Ge, you said it. When the day I beat him come, I will come to you to collect debt." Bai Yi Yang said joking, her eyes shines with confidence. Bai Yi Chen nod to this, he will let her collect any debt if it means she is going to be interested in study again.

Bai Yi Yang stood up and head outside after talking a bit, it already started raining lightly outside.

"Where are you going again?" Bai Yi Chen called her.

"To bring in the woods. When you are done, come out." Bai Yi Chen shout from the gate. She can arrange the wood onto the wall under the corridor so that they won't get rained on, it's no problem with getting it wet, she can just dry it but it won't be good it it is too wet. No matter how good a wood is, it won't withstand too much moisture, that is why they need coating so that they can last long. Bai Yi Yang didn't want to show her strength too much so she just lift a bunch of woods and start arranging it near the wall of the storage room.

Basically, all the East, Main, West and Opposite house are connected. The corridor is build in front of the houses and protected under the roof so they can move around from one house to another one without getting rained on. So if she arrange the wood under the corridor, they won't get wet unless the rain is blowed by the winds to this area.

Bai Yi Yang planned to cover the woods with canvas later, so that they doesn't get rained on completely. For now, the rain is still small, so it will be okay. Bai Yi Yang returns two times before Bai Yi Chen rush to follow her.

Bai Yi Chen was shocked when he saw the piles of woods behind the bushes. This many? No wonder she had been working from morning to late afternoon. This ability of Bai Yi Yang is really amazing.

"Yang Yang, how did you cut this much?" He asked as he pick the same amount as Bai Yi Yang onto his shoulder.

"That's why I return late for lunch.." Bai Yi Yang laugh.

"These woods are very hard and solid." Bai Yi Chen comment, good colour. It is also very heavy, must have been difficult for her to bring all of these here.

With them coming back and forth under the light rain, they finished piling it up within half an hours. It forms a big piles in front of the storage, there are various length and thickness. This is something that Bai Yi Yang has planned in advance for her projects.

Now, both of them are also wet with rain water by the time they returns with the last batch. Bai Yi Yang was shivering from cold as she went into the Main house whereas Bai Yi Chen went straight into the bath room in the West house.

"Xiao Ling, can you help boil some water for us. Jiejie wants to make tea later." Bai Yi Yang said as she went into the bathroom to take a bath.

The water is cold but compared to the rain water plus the wind outside, this is nothing, it was even a bit warmer. Bai Yi Yang wash her hair thoroughly, she doesn't want to get a flu. That will be very annoying.

When she came out with a towel around her head, Bai Yi Ling called her from the kitchen, the water is already boiling. Bai Yi Yang went through the plastic bags in the empty room on the right side, they put all the stuff they bought temporarily here, there were a lot of plastic bags containing various things like snacks, dried food, herbs, drinks, towels, clothes, detergents, soaps, cleaning products. It was all the things they purchased before and the things they just purchased yesterday. It accumulates in this room because for now they still cannot organise it.

Bai Yi Yang try to search for the fruit infused tea that she bought, she is into tea instead of coffee, so she actually bought 5 different flavours, 3 fruits infused tea, earl grey and regular black tea.

The two little one also sneak into the room with Bai Yi Yang, inside here, there are a lot of interesting things that their older sister bought, they also saw Bai Yi Yang snacks in one of those plastic.

"Your gege is here?" She asked, meaning if he is in the Main house.

"Yeah, he is outside." Bai Yi Fang answer.

"Go call him over for a while." Fang Fang ran to the door and call her gege loudly.

"Ge, what kind of tea do you like?" Bai Yi yang asked Bai Yi Chen who is looking over from outside the room.

"Regular black tea." Bai Yi Chen said. He saw the different kind of tea in different boxes, he didn't dare to try it. He only knows regular black tea.

"Okay." Bai Yi Yang took a packet of regular black tea and a mango infused black tea for herself. The two children is very curious, so they follow him around to the kitchen. Bai Yi Yang made the two tea in two wooden mug, she didn't add any sugar. Let Bai Yi Chen add it himself if he likes sweet drinks. Then she carefully bring it over to the Main house.

Bai Yi Yang gave the black tea to Bai Yi Chen and sat on the floor with her mug. The three children is surrounding her since her tea smells so good, it smells like sweet mango drinks, that is why they were curious. Bai Yi Yang scoop a spoonful and blow on it to cool it down, she let Bai Yi Ling taste it first. The girl was quite amazing, she didn't have much reaction but instead quickly move away.

"Does it taste good?" Fang Fang pestered her second sister to answer.

"You try it yourself, it smells good." Bai Yi Ling didn't say anything anymore after that comment. Bai Yi Fang pouted and waited for her turn while Bai Yi Yang is cooling down the tea.

"Jie.." She said. Bai Yi Yang smiled and let her try next. Bai Yi Fang immediately make a strange face when she tasted the tea and move away.

"Don't spit inside the house.." Bai Yi Ling warn. If not because of Bai Yi Ling warning, she really would have spit it out. It's a bitter and doesn't taste like a mango at all. The smell is a scam. Bai Yi Mo was terrified when he saw his younger sister reaction.

"Xiao Mo..aahhh.." Bai Yi Yang said to Bai Yi Mo, she is holding her laugh now.

"En.." Bai Yi Mo closed her mouth, he doesn't want it anymore. Bai Yi Yang laugh and took a sip.

"It's very fragrant." Bai Yi Yang praised. It wasn't that bitter to be honest, its just that it is not sweet unlike the smells and taste a bit bitter. Bai Yi Mo steel himself and try a sip. Her reaction wasn't as bad as Bai Yi Fang but he still frown and immediately drink water.

The children then ask her why she is drinking this kind of things, it wasn't delicious at all. Bai Yi Yang enjoys the scent and the taste wasn't that bad actually. She finished her tea and bring the children to lay inside the bedroom. She plays some fun English pop songs and they listen to it together. The two children will dance to exciting musics and even mumble some easily memorable songs.

That's how their evening past, the heavy rain is still pouring and it didn't affect them even a bit.

Bai Yi Yang didn't want the children to sleep and wake up so she bring the children to the living room to unwrap the washing machine and dryer. When they saw the machine inside the box, the children cheer loudly.

"I think we need to install it in advance." Bai Yi Yang said. She forgot that she told Bai Yi Ling not to wash their clothes, no wonder the clothes inside the cupboard is become lesser by day. Luckily Bai Yi Chen will sometimes was their work clothes and dry it outside.

Bai Yi Yang didn't hesitate anymore and went into her workshop to take the washer/dryer rack. She bring it to the laundry room in the West side and put it in place. The image she had in mind is same. Its only that later she still need to paint this rack white. But now is not a time to think, the rain won't stop for a while. What are they going to wear if she didn't wash their clothes now?

First, Bai Yi Yang and Bai Yi Chen lifted the boxes one by one to the laundry room. Bai Yi Yang unbox the washing machine, it was white in colour, the door is at the front and it looks very expensive. Well it was actually expensive. Bai Yi Yang skim through the instructions and connect the water inlet hose to the pipe head, then connect the drain hose to the hole that is connected to the drain outside. After that, she plug in the machine onto the plug on the side before she tied up the extra length of the wire. Then she and Bai Yi Chen lift the dryer on the rack, it was lighter than the washing machine.

"Woah, they look expensive." Bai Yi Fang said.

"En, they are expensive." Bai Yi Yang test the stability of the rack and it was really stable she can tell. With the two machine organised together with the rack, there are still a lot of space in the laundry area, even after adding another rack inside here, it won't be crowded.

"Why don't we try it. Xiao Ling, bring the clothes over." Bai Yi Yang tell Bai Yi Ling to take the dirty clothes while she ran to the Main house to take their brand new liquid detergent, stain remover and softener.

After putting in about 15 kg worth of clothings, she poured the detergents in the detergents drawer, she pour just enough amount like the instructions. While she is doing all these, she is also teaching her siblings about the do and don't, especially Bai Yi Fang and Bai Yi Mo.

"Jiejie, we know that these things is not something to play." Bai Yi Mo answer.

"En, en." Bai Yi Fang nod.

"Good kids." Bai Yi Yang praise.

After filling in the detergent, she close the drawer and only teach a few buttons to Bai Yi Ling, the first one is the water level, there are also pictures in it about how much the water is, then the temperature which is cold, warm and hot, there are also pictures on it, then the materials with pictures such a regular clothes, blankets etc, then there is also the program settings.

But the main things is that, as long as you press the start button, the machine will automatically use the preset settings, Bai Yi Yang set it to the second highest water level, then regular clothings, warm temperatures and set three course which is wash, rinse and spin, she skips the soaking part. Then she ask Bai Yi Ling to press the start button and the machine immediately start spinning.

"You see the number here? This is the time needed to wash it, 45 minutes. So we need to wait for 45 minutes before we can take it out to dry." Bai Yi Yang said. The sibling nod and Bai Yi Yang brought them back inside the living room.

"Just leave it there?" Bai Yi Ling ask as she look back.

"Yeah. It will wash our clothes cleanly. Later we can dry it in the dryer." Bai Yi Yang said as she brought them inside again. The wind is a bit cold now, she don't want to stay outside also.
