Chapter 11 - Villain to a hero?

Zhu Kang peered at him intently. That guy did not look like he was lying, though. 'Can I believe this guy...' his eyes narrowed into slits.

"Don't give me that disgusting look. Act natural." Altren kicked him from under the table.

'This fucker...' Zhu Kang shut his mouth and silently ate the peas one by one.

"Why are pecking at your food. Eat," Gwyn patted his shoulders. "See your friend? He looks healthy because he eats a lot," he gestured at Altren who was smiling like a lovesick puppy.

'ew... just ew...' he just cringed at him. "I am healthy as I am," he shrugged his brother's hands.

Gwyn shrugged and sat back down. "So Altren, I heard you are studying architecture major. Ate you any good, I might need some help to redesign this house. Zhuzhu here does not seem to like the decor recently." He half hugged the young hero's shoulders.

Altren blushed slightly and nodded. "I can help you,"

"No!" Zhu Kang stood up, pushing the chair behind him.

"Zhuzhu what's wrong with you? Are you okay? You have been acting really rude for a while now," Gwyn also stood up with a frown.

Zhu just bit his lips. 'Brother, you silly man, you are walking right into a spider web. If you tread even further, you will be devoured by that nasty thunder spitting spider!'

"You.. you are not paying any attention to me from the moment he entered the house. How.. how could you ignore your loving brother." Zhu Kang shouted aloud.

Gwyn just gaped at him while Altren bit his lips with a deep frown on his face.

"Oh my dear," Gwyn stood up and hugged him tightly. "My baby brother, I love you so much.."

Altren's plate snapped in half. "This tastes so good. Yum." He said dully, peering at Gwyn's hands on Zhu's shoulders.

'This jealous bastard!' Zhu Kang smiled softly. "Why don't we do the project in the nearby cafe or else I might get a lot jealous."

Gwyn apologetically glanced at Altren. "Sorry, looks like my brother loves me too much," he nuzzled his head on his little brother's shoulders.

Zhu Kang dully pushes his puppy head off his shoulders. "Shall we get going, Altren?"

Altren stood up with a strained smile. "yes..." he took his bag with him and left the house.

After leaving the door, Zhu Kang frowned. 'What have I done? I have offended the all too powerful human KFC fryer. What can I do to survive now?' he glanced at him with an awkward smile. "the cafe next street is silent and..."

Altren just walked away without even looking back.

Even from the back, his shoulders looked too strained. 'He is barely holding back his anger...'

After Altren left out of eyesight, he swiftly opened the door and ran in. "brother..."

"Zhuzhu? Went you going to do your assignment?" Gwen worriedly looked at him.

"yes... he kind of had diarrhea and had to go back home," he lied though his teeth. 'You should be thankful, my darling brother. I just saved your love life,'

Gwyn frowned. "There is an operational bathroom right here. He could have used it. Maybe he thought our place was too messy to even poo," he shrugged with a slight sigh.

Zhu Kang sighed even louder. "He is a rich man... he must look down on us."

"Don't say that. Not all rich people are like that," his brother mumbled, cleaning the left overs.

"yeah you are right though," Zhu knag silently glanced at the table. He felt slightly fearful for telling of Altren, but also somewhat accomplished for protecting his new brother.

'This feels good. Maybe it's because I have a family now.' he smilingly gazed at him.

Gwyn just shook his head with a quirky smile on his face. "You look crazy,"

"Thanks, I'll take that as a compliment,"

After dinner, he just chilled out with Gwyn on the new dusty sofa watching an old football game.

"Come on! Take the goal!!" Gwyn shouted, tossing popcorn at the cracked screen. Each of the popcorn shot out like bullets lodging on the walls besides the tv.

"o—okay.... no more popcorn for you. It might cause severe injury." Zhu Kang pulled the bowl away from him.

"Come on, bro, don't go soft on me. You used to love doing that," Gwyn got back his bowl of popcorn and started to munch on it loudly. "Oh look look... he is going to score...."

Just as the goal was about to be scored, the network went into a commercial break. "Really!! A break now!!! What the heck,"

His crazy super villain brother started to break things easily with a flick of his fingers.

Zhu knag flinched. 'My goodness, what is this monstrous strength. Thank god I did not cross this man.'

Suddenly, this got him thinking about something else. He glanced at the wall of paper clippings. 'If he is so powerful, why is he such a mess up when it comes to heist. Maybe was the original Zhu Kang so bad at it that they got caught easily,'

"godddddd I hate it!!!" Gwyn continued smashing things.

Zhu Kang griped his hands and pulled him back down on the sofa. "This is a pre recorded game bro. We can watch it later,"

Surprisingly, Gwyn calmed down. "ohh.... but I wanted to watch it with you," he half hugged his shoulders and pulled him close. "It's been a while since we spent some quality time together..." he whispered with a sad smile.

Zhu Kang was slightly surprised by this. 'Looks like the Kang brothers did not have a good relationship,'

Zhu Kang was kidnapped from the orphanage at a young age. They were separated for years after. This might have contributed to their rocky relationship as well.

'But it's different now. I am not the real Zhu Kang who is cold to this silly guy,'

He hugged him back. "Don't worry, I'll drop by often."

"I'll like that," Gwyn smiled softly.

Suddenly the Tv roared with a loud ad. {"Do you feel like you have super powers? Come get it tested at 'Mighty light academy testing area set up in your locality! You too can become a hero!!!"}

Gwyn suddenly lost his smile and grumbled under his breath.

Zhu Kang curiously looked at him. 'Wait a minute. If I can reform this villain into a hero, wouldn't that be a good thing. We won't have to go rob things.'

The hero academy 'Mighty light' was one of the world famous ones which train the top-notch heroes. The graduated heroes get paid well every month.

At first when he read the article, he was very curious and wanted to go check this pace out. But the location of the academy was a mystery.

No one knows where it is.

"What is your impression of being a hero?" Zhu Kang nudged him softly.

Gwyn stiffened up even more. "I. hate. Them!!"

He stood up and walked away.

"What the hell was that? I was just asking a question. Besides heroes get paid, we don't have to rob anyone. Plus, we can be of help to others" Zhu Kang followed after him.

Gwyn strode over to the kitchen and swiftly washed his face. "Enough!

"Why not!! Being a hero is good. We can help others..."

"Heroes don't help others!!!! They only help themselves!!! They are nothing but selfish bastards on white capes!!! I hate them!! I HATE THEM!!!!!!!!" his skin started to change form into a scaled beast.

Zhu did not expect this at all. He stumbled away from him. 'oh oh.. I think I hit the nerve right there.....'
