The welkynd stones were actually introduced in Skyrim with a paid mod that got added for free with the Anniversary Edition. There is definitely a lot that can be made with mana stones

First thing, thank you for the chapter and have my power stone! The only thing I would be skeptical about would be how the pirates are getting so many black soul gems. In the game they were rare and a pain to collect that's why Azura's star was so handy. Also, if he could study one of the snow elves way shrines for their teleporting properties. More specifically how they are powered, because there is no way they use soul gems to move between them; those left being that old and still working. Maybe something to do with converting sunlight into magica and storing it or being powered by faith, or the gates draw energy from the god Areil's realm to power them?

If you decide to explore this aspect of magic it could be the catalyst for him to explore blackreach

Thanks for the chap, so the pirates took over solitude? I'm curious what they are using all the black soul gems for. I get that they are useful for magic and likely to sell well to necromancers but it seems they are really going hard on trying to fill as many as possible.
