The bird rushed back to him with same speed. When the bird was close enough, he swung his knife fiercely.

His hands were reinforced with energy but the knife was normal. He was not yet capable of using his energy on weapons.

The knife flew past the bird and did not even touch its feather. The bird did not seem to be wary of his knife.

With the speed of his knife it was not possible to hurt the bird. To hurt the bird he could only corner the bird first.

In the open forest it was not possible for him to trap the bird to attack it. Not only could he not attack the bird but his defense was not high enough to last more than ten minutes under the bird's assault.

" I have to finish the bird within five minutes. If I don't then I would be out of energy."

"But how can I hurt it. It is not possible to even touch its feather. Only the bird attacks and i defend" he was thinking of methods to deal with bird.

He did not have any ability except for the reinforce. His speed was less than the bird. He could not guess the strength of the bird but with its high speed the strength was multiplied too.

He was thinking while the beast grew impatient. The bird was now flying in circles around him trying to kill him from all the angles.

He could only get cut on several spots. He used his energy control to its peak and defended every possible spot.

Under the pressure from the attack he did not even care for his body parts capacity to contain energy and supplied more energy for defense.

"Twenty seconds passed and more than forty cuts have been stacked on my body." he sighed

"The only positive thing about these attack is that I can control the energy more efficiently now." he was growing while fighting.

This is what he hoped from fighting beasts. He could easily increase his strength, speed and energy with the help of system but he wanted to learn to efficiently use his strength.

Accumulating a large amount of stats would not help him. Only when he learns to control his strength in fights, would he grow.

He was continuously dodging the beast. The increase in his efficiency with energy control strengthened his defense.

He was not getting cut anymore. The bird also noticed the situation and increased the power put into its wings.

Roan was easily able to control reinforce for his defense but he could not use it to attack the bird. His speed was still the same.

"If I cannot trap it then I can only lead it into the forest. It's speed would be hindered and there are other beasts in the forest that might help me." he thought things over and came to the conclusion that only by slowing down the bird he could kill it.

In the forest there were dense trees. The bird could not cut down all the trees, beasts that were starving for meat were still hiding.

He wanted the beasts to hinder the bird which would give him the opportunity to land a strike on the bird.

He made up his mind and rushed in the forest while dodging and ducking the bird's attack. The bird did not hesitate, it was no more trying to get the meat.

It wanted to kill him. It could not accept a weak creature dodging and ducking its attacks.

Roan was already in the forest. The bird followed him but its speed was significantly decreased.

Its one meter wide each wings could no more fully stretch itself. The bird could only fly above the forest and came attacking when the area was open for its flight.

Roan only wanted to slow the bird down. After that a single hit would be enough to kill it.

He ran to a open area in forest where the bird could come. The bird quickly came dashing to him. He hid behind a thick tree when the bird came to attack.

The bird seemed to have expected this and cut the tree from where its wings passed.

When the bird's wing cut through the tree, a knife cut through the bird's neck. Roan had planned to use the tree as a reference point.

He knew the bird would arrogantly cut through it. He just guessed the distance between the tree and bird's head when it cut through the tree.

The bird's wing was a meter wide and the tree was of one foot diameter. He only had to cover the distance of two foot at most to touch it.

His knife was of one foot in length. He only had to reach within a foot range of bird. He burst out the energy from his legs to quickly reach the bird.

The bird was beheaded and the tree it cut fell down on its body. The very fast blue bird which could not be touched was beheaded in a single strike.

Four consecutive notifications popped up. Roan only wanted to check the exp point requirements for next level up.

He wanted to know if exp requirements would only go up by 1000 per level up. But he was shocked to notice a a skill gain notification.

From what he knew, there are beast souls which gave skill but the beast soul and its beast crystal has to be combined for it.

It does not need any professional, the beast soul has a will and can combine with the beast crystal on its own if permitted.

But the case here was different, he gained the beast crystal and the skill both, which surprised him.

"There are people who can gain the skill just from the beast soul but they have to be geniuses and only those who practice the skill of same kind as the beast can get it."

"I have already got the beast crystal and now I am clearly able to gain a skill. I think the system helps the information of skill to directly enter my mind but it still does not explain how am i able summon the skill crystal in my hands." he could not only choose to learn the skill but also summon it.

"Maybe the system has methods to convert the beast soul into skill crystal." this was the only conclusion he could get to.

He opened his status menu to check for other surprises if any.

He looked at the exp points needed to level up and was satisfied with it. As per his speculation, the amount of exp points needed to level up only increased by one thousand.

He was not currently using the exp system to level up but he still wanted to understand how it functioned.

He looked at the stats point remaining in his system. It was total 19 stats points left unused.

He was interested in the new skill gained after killing the bird. The bird was very fast and used its wings with wind element to cut the tree effortlessly.

The name of skill gained from the beast was wind path. He was not entirely sure but it seemed to be a movement type skill.

He did not hesitate to learn the skill. Whether it was a movement skill or an attack skill, he needed both of them anyways.

"I hope it is a movement skill. I can still kill beasts with reinforce but if am not able to match their speed then it is useless to have it."

He chose to learn the skill. The information of skill entered his mind. He got to know how the skill worked and then compared to how the bird used it.

The skill was to use the energy to convert it into a wind element power and then use it on your body.

The skill did not say that it was to be used as an attack or a movement skill.

It was similar to energy manipulation skill but instead of users energy it manipulated wind element.

"The bird was really an expert. I do not know if it is the only skill the bird had but the potential of this skill is very high."

"The bird covered its body with wind powers. Not only did it use the skill to increase its speed but also used it for attack." he realised that he could use it for both attack and speed.

He was very satisfied with the result. He had a skill to train and it was similar to how reinforce worked.

He did not have to try very hard. He used his energy to convert it into wind. He then covered his whole body with wind element energy.

He felt as if he was very light and could speed up twice of before. He tested his speed by controlling the wind. His speed was nearly same as the bird's.

The reason for his high speed was not because the bird was less proficient in wind control than him. He was very fast because his normal speed was already the max limit for speed types of his level.

His initial speed and his experience with reinforce helped him reach the same speed as the bird.

He did not know if the bird was serious at that moment and was using its full speed. It could be that the bird was probably underestimating him.

Because he knew the bird could not be any worse than him. When he fought the bird in forest, no other beast dared to interfere.

It was as if the beasts were scared of the bird and did not dare close in to it.

He learnt the skill and was already capable of using it well. He looked at the dead body of blue bird beast.

He already had meat of the demon kangaroo so it was waste to take the bird's body back. He left the body lying under the cut tree.

He walked back slowly to the plateau where he was cooking the kangaroo's meat.

He used his wind path to slowly and smoothly walk around the plateau. He roamed for a while looking for other beasts. He was only three level away from reaching level ten.

He could not find any beast. He was disappointed and decided to go back to place where he cooked meat.

It did not take long, with the help of wind path he could rush to any point of the plateau within ten minutes.

He came back and found that the meat of beast was there but it was half bitten.

It was as if the beast was in hurry and took the bite full of meat and escaped.

He did not mind, he only wanted to hunt a beast with the help of meat. It was already enough that he got the blue bird.

There was already a demon kangaroo who might come and will help him get one more level.

Now that he knew there was another beast daring to take a bite of his meat he felt relief. It was already dark with sun almost set.

He could not travel now. He did not want to leave the demon kangaroo and there was another beast who stole his food.

He had a goal to search for beasts which was now complete. He needed one more beast except for kangaroo and the one who ate the meat.

He left the leftover meat on the ground and used wind path to rush in the forest. With wind path not only could he run very fast but also float in the air and jump very high.

He wanted to use his speed to search for the beast if possible. "With my current speed I should be able to catch it, if it is not a speed type beast."
