Chapter 668: Tracking

Bi Fang gave up the pursuit.

By the time he crossed the valley, it was already afternoon, and darkness would fall again in about an hour.

If he started chasing now, even if he caught up within an hour, he wouldn't be able to bring the wild ox back. Moreover, the food reserves were not abundant. If it dragged on for two days, the situation would deteriorate. He might as well set out tomorrow morning and ice fish again today.

After carefully searching the icy surface, Bi Fang found a good spot, broke through the ice, sat on a dry log, and used fish bones to make a fish hook, baiting it with the fish guts left over from yesterday.

Before darkness set in, he caught eight fish of various sizes. The largest one weighed more than fifteen pounds and had to be held firmly to control it; Bi Fang speared it with a fish spear.

However, the most exciting part was having charcoal at last and finally being able to eat some cooked food.
