Lord Bael was not such an easy nut to crack, even if his father was the true mastermind and not him. His current attitude was already enough to shock those present since he was usually more prideful and could not stand being insulted or upstaged in any way.
Despite this, they knew the reason all too well as the only motive for him to act differently to such a degree, would be the will of his father, Zekram Bael. Before the true master of the Great King Faction and the Bael Clan, he was but a meek kitten who did as commanded.
In fact, unbeknownst to everyone present, even Morgan who had yet to sniff it out, even though th one speaking was the current Lord Bael, his words were literally his father's.
As in Zekram was attending through his son's body using some secret method, allowing him to directly control things so long as his son willingly ceded control.
And so, with supreme calmness, he continued.
"Speaking of your illustrious name, what is the connection to the first bearing it I wonder?"
"If it is the Morgan Le Fay that you know of then none at all." Morgan calmly replied and to any listening, regardless of mental capacity, it was obviously a sentence full of hidden meaning.
It was clearly not just a name despite not being related to the first Morgan that they knew of but it still held some connection to the events now recalled as the Arthurian Legend. The problem was that they were missing a critical piece of information to unveil that connection.
This was of course, the knowledge that Morgan and her escorts had come from an alternate universe but this was something they were not planning on revealing just yet, at least not in such a public setting.
"Well, putting such matters aside, I believe it is time for us to move on to the actual intended subject of this gathering." Sirzechs interjected, breaking the silence that had settled in after Morgan's last response.
"Indeed." Lord Phenex was the first to voice his agreement and others followed soon after, thus moving the negotiations along.
"The pure blooded devils you have captured must be returned unharmed and only after that, will we possibly be willing to discuss any occurrences." Creuzery immediately spoke, clearly making demands despite lacking the capability to make such drastic decisions.
Silence fell once again as despite the Devils waiting for Morgan's response, she did not even deign to acknowledge Creuzerey's words, showing everyone present just how much weight and credibility she gave them.
"I would first like to inquire about my children's condition." Lady Phenex spoke, unwilling to let the meeting stall yet again just because some fools did not know their place in the pecking order.
"Ah. In regards to that, other than not having the freedom to leave a designated area, they are currently being treated as guests with all the proper amenities, the reincarnated ones as well. This will continued to be the case until either a conclusion is reached or we get tired of negotiating." Morgan smoothly replied.
The answer was enough to drastically improve Lord and Lady Phenex's opinion of Jun.
Their children and their servants being granted such amenities until the negotiations were over, was a very generous gesture, especially since while they cared for their children, they also knew they were completely in the wrong when it came to the current matter.
For others however, this show of courtesy could also be interpreted as weakness. Not abusing their prisoners was standard so long as one did not wish for relations to break down completely but such a luxurious treatment for mere high class devils . . . It came across as too serville a move.
This time, it was not a calculated action to play weak and simply a matter of course for Jun since he had no real issue with Riser and company other than the fact that his stupidity messed up his previous plans.
The effect was great however, and the already agressive Old Satan faction was ready to take it all the way while the Great King Faction, despite no wishing for such a drastic solution, began favouring a more hardline stance as well.
Unfortunately, the over aggressiveness of the Old Satan Faction made them a prize test subject to test out Jun and his group, disincentivizing the Great King Faction from taking the risk to antagonize them, which was most certainly not good as they were the primary target.
'Still . . . They are tempted. We have secrets that they want and taking us out will boost the influence and reputation of those that carry out the deed.' Morgan pondered.
'If I can trick them into sufficiently underestimating our strength, then we won't be an unknown to be tested by the disposable Old Satan Faction. Instead, we'll come off as a juicy prey to be fought over, making them move against us as well.' She continued in her mind.
'I simply have to not react much to insults and threats. Acting weak will only make them suspicious but if I try to act strong while not proving my strength, they will think I'm posturing. It will also result in the fulfillment of our end of the bargain with the current Satans since we won't be taking small provocations to heart.'
Coming to this conclusion, the Fairy Queen communicated her plan to her escorts who acknowledged it without a change in facial expression or demeanour.
It was time to put on a show.
