Colossal Losses

To say Jun was happy was a massive understatement, he felt like he could take on a God right now, not a divine spirit, but a bona fide God.

Unbeknownst to him however, his rapid progress had been witnessed by a certain existence which had thus determined Jun's fast growth as a threat and was determined to get him while he was still "weak".

That's correct, to said existence, the current Jun was far too weak to be considered, the threatening factor was his growth his potential. But said existence was far away, at a distance even Jun's enhanced mind could not truly comprehend.

But if it was willing to use up a great deal of energy, it would be capable of a single precise strike at Jun's location, just a single very precise torrent of energy, sent through spacetime to the target's location.

Jun left his reality marble and was planning on starting to show off to the beauties that noticed his return when color drained from his face. Crest of the Truth was signalling his impending doom so Shiki left into Imaginary Space, leaving behind a bunch of worried Servants.

"Aurea Poculum!"

Shiki activated his noble phantasm drawing on the massive stores of energy it held after fusing with the Greater Grail and used it to deploy his mightiest power.

"Null . . . MYRIAD!"

Jun's noble phantasm reality marble, the product of all of his efforts and the source of his power where all the true forms of his other abilities and noble phantasms were resting.

But before absolute might . . . What was that effort worth? The answer soon became clear. Ranks, even those like UEX were measures for the weak!

Hollow Shell was burned away when the torrent descended, and Aeternus Eversor's true form was shattered but clearly, not without cost as the torrent weakened significantly.

It still destroyed the ter of life, by infecting it with its energy and riddled the Celestial sphere with cracks and holes but after shattering Tonitrus, it remnant power could go no deeper.

Jun was relieved, it was a painful loss but a bearable one but then he realized, the pressage was still not gone, it was still there, like a timeless symbol of his destined destruction.

"The Tree of Life!" The energy of the the torrent corrupted it and used it to infiltrate the depths of Null Myriad it could not reach to destroy the very core of Jun's existence.

Jun was about to fall into despair at the feeling of everything ending just like that, with no explanation, as his unrivalled processing abilities were lost with the Crest of truth that was under the Tree's control and thus robbing him of a solution to the problem.

But, his mind of True Nothingness did not let it happen, reigning in his emotions and making the path to survival clear.

Gathering every last trace that could be salvaged, Jun activated True Nothingness after setting everything else to self destruct along with the villainous energy that took over his Tree of Life.

Melding into Nothingness, Jun evanded, even the notice of his would be destroyer and returned to the mansion where the Servants were waiting, not even a tenth of the power and potential he once held remained . . .

'WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT!?' Jun screamed in his mind.

'Calm down.' Ahsaka firmly said.

'I am calm, True Nothingness doesn't really let me freak out. But the situation surely deserves it.' Jun responded.

'That was Velber, also known as the Umbral Star." Ashaka revealed.

'Velber!?' Jun was shocked to his core.

'The Velber is a form of observation device created by the same race that created the Moon Cell. The Moon Cell's existence is limited to the Fate/EX timeline, but the Velber exists in other worlds as well.' Ahsaka continued.

'It works on a set orbit, passing through the Milky Way Galaxy once every 14,000 years, selectively targeting and destroying all intelligent life in its path. Its true motives are unclear but it obviously has some means of observing this world and saw your potential as threatening enough to take action.'

'While it did not break from its set orbit or speed up its coming to the Milky Way, it did take preventive measures to snuff you out before you grew into a threat.' Ahsaka concluded.

'Any good news?' Jun exasperatedly asked.

'It will not be able to repeat such an action, even if you enter its radar again, sending the much energy from its current location ought to have required a massive sacrifice of its reserves so you don't have to worry about a repeat any time soon.' Ahsaka shared which was indeed good news.

'Well Velber, you have just promoted yourself to the very top of my shit list. If I can't end you the next time you swing by Earth I'll commit suicide!' Jun swore to himself.

He returned to the palace reality marble where his servants were and simply said.

"This is what happened . . . " Followed by an explanation and ended it with.

"And I don't want to talk about it."

"Just a few questions? Please?" Penthesilea said.

Jun stared at her and after a while said.

"Fine!"

"A fragment of this being once destroyed nearly all gods, reducing them to divine spirits yet you survived an attack from its main body!?" She managed to get out the question in everyone's mind.

Jun froze for a bit and then said out loud.

"Damn! When you put it that way I suddenly don't feel as bad as before. Thanks! Now let's end the Great Holy Grails war so I can get back to recovering all the power I lost to survive that attack." Jun responded and left the girls without a straight answer but content their master had somewhat returned to his previous disposition.

"Well you can just sit back and relax master! If you did all the work, why bother summoning us?" Mordred clamored.

"Well for your smouldering good looks of course Mor!" Jun joked, making the Knight of Rebellion blush.

"But you're right. I shall leave this battle to you all." Jun declared.

But there was not battle to be had.

When Jun went to millenia castle, he found a reception inviting him in and Jeanne was inside along with the two remaining masters of the Black Faction who had decided to call her as a mediator for surrender since Jun respected her authority as Ruler.

"So what are your terms?" Fiore Forvedge Yggdmillennia, current head of the Yggdmillennia clans after Darnic's death.

"As long as the Servants die, I can let you go. I'll even heal those legs of yours but that's as far as I am willing to go." Jun cut a deal. absorbing two servants would allow his Aurea Poculum to recover some magical energy while their remnants would turn into nice treats.

Chiron and Astolfo looked at each other and the latter shrugged, bringing a wry smile to former's face.

"It was our fate to disappear after the war anyway. If that is all that is required, then all is good." Chiron said and after some tearful goodbyes, at least for Astolfo, they were, the servants departed with smiles on their faces.

Jun brough Fiore into his mansion reality marble to make good on his deal while Jeanne followed them as she wished to ask Jun some questions.

He fixed her legs with some of divine medicine inside his Aurea Poculum, it was pretty easy with such a great material and sent her on her way, but not before she insisted he passed by Millenia castle before leaving but Jun refused as it was really just a passing kindness.

Now, with all Servants present, Jun turned to Jeanne who stayed behind.

"So . . . What was it that you wanted to ask?" Jun inquired.

"Can you tell me your story?" Jeanne requested.

"My story?" Jun was confused.

"Yes, where are you from, how did you come to be here." Jeanned explained.

"Oh I don't mind but . . ." Jun started.

"But?" Jeanne asked.

"Shouldn't that be reserved for my companions. If you want to make a contract with me, then you would be deserving too though." Jun teased, making the holy maiden pout.

"Hahaha! That pout is quite cute indeed!" Jun exclaimed as the other girls burned in jealousy.

Even Silea who previously abhorred such actions when involving her and Semiramis who would ignore Jun if he sweet talked her like that, were gritting their teeth. Mordred didn't know why she was pissed but pissed she was while Fran and Jack just clung to Jun.

"You can smell the vinegar . . ." Jun quietly commented but making sure all important parties heard, only to infuriate them and confuse Mordred who didn't know the expression.

In the end, poor Jeanne caved to Jun's charms and gave in, forming a contract with him and so Jun, shared will all of them the story of his life. His birth, in an orphanage, his journey in DxD and how he came to be where he was at the moment.
