Chapter 47

When Joe rounded the cave tunnel he saw Caroline had ventured out further of the cave mouth, she was stood on the beach now. It took him a moment before he could see what she was staring at, in the ocean a large island had appeared a massive dark figure. Upon the adjustment of his eyes he realized it wasn't an island at all, it was Tig wa'nala'mbo floating up on the ocean's surface, dead.

"Caroline." Joe whispered, he was about to tell her to come back inside when he heard:

"Hello!? Anyone!?" it was a familiar voice yelling out over the beach. Eddy walked out behind Joe and pulled on his arm.

"Let's go!" Eddy said, nudging him to the back of the cave. Joe wanted to shout to Caroline but she hollered out in response before he could stop her.

"Hello!? Caroline replied. Then she said dumbly "Are you human?"

"We are!" The voice said as it got closer, Joe knew this voice, it was one of the women he had met on the cruise. "Are you okay?" The voice went on.
