Chapter 35 Final Ranking

Though shocked they rushed forward to take out the spellcasters. Compared to the monument hunting team these teams were larger. Containing three dragonoids and over a dozen kobolds in each group which was more threatening so they easily made it to the casters in time.

Blitzing through the goblin guards to kill most of the spellcasters though several spells from the remaining casters were fired at the dragonoids compared to the power of the entire group it was minor in face of the 3 magic resistance dragonoids who took the blow.

Swiftly finishing off the remaining defenders they destroyed their objectives before scouting the remaining parts of the base in search of the leader.

Back with the warlock who seemed to have become more patient with each battle. Waiting for any change the warlock was ready when he noticed a change in the magic around him. Seeing the magic current around him becoming unsettled he realized several destructive spells were cast.

Only further confirmed when scouts patrolling the base returned with several burns even though they were outside the blast radius. Though most scouts died these scouts returned to inform the warlock of the goblin casters and the army in the forest.

Seeing that they were setting up outside the base to bombard it with spells the warlock ordered the kobolds and dragonoids to move out. Due to magic having a cast time and since goblin's personal spellcasting ability is weak it would be better to charge them.

Leading the kobolds and the dragonoid army to the edge of the base just in time for the first bombardment of the base which the warlock casted a shield over the entire army exhausting a huge portion of his reserves.

Seeing the massive drain of his power the warlock ordered a charge of everyone to annihilate the enemy. With the enemy army in sight who recognized the kobold's charge. The mages who just cast started preparing different spells for the army. With the hundreds of casters behind the regular goblin warriors the warlock's face grew grim realizing the threat.

Deciding to take a risk he cast his final spell for the day. Launching a giant fireball into the enemy casters who were in the middle of casting. Without being able to dodge the goblin casters screamed in fear before being burned to cinders.

With most of the goblin casters destroyed the virtual arena suddenly ended. A little shocked though the warlock soon realized that he must have killed the enemy leader while his attacking teams succeeded.

Though they expected it they were shocked to discover that the dragonoids would also be revived after death since this was the first dragonoid death. Normally they would be able to retreat even if heavily injured.

Jack was surprised at the sudden ending though happy with it.

With him becoming the first rank he had to face many challenges from either the new rankers who were easy to face or the other top rankers who he hadn't faced yet. Earning his place at the top spot alongside earning his believers a lot of experience.

Flashing back into the main hall with everyone else Jack was soon recognized as the top ranking student of this trial. Alongside earning his reward of another card.

Being given a selection between an expansion card, class card or another high tier card. Seeing the selection this time Jack was happy especially being able to select a warrior class card. With it his believers would be even stronger.

Stat Bonuses: +1physique, +1 strength, +.5 agility

Skill Bonuses: Grants Sword Mastery(Basic), Footwork(Basic), Shield Mastery(Basic)]

Happy with his card and after all the mini celebration and saying goodbye to his friends he left to return back to his room.

Since today is the next month and his card slot was available he entered inside his realm to make some changes.

Getting inside and seeing his followers all ready to level up besides the level two kobolds since the virtual arena literally can't make hero class characters.

Leveling up all his old kobolds to level 2, new adults to level 1 and all his dragonoids to lv 4 alongside adding the warrior profession instantly raising the stats of every follower by a large amount. Though the warrior card isn't a huge stat buff for the dragonoids the skills are very useful alongside the level up they are way stronger than before.

Happy seeing the reactions of his believers and their happiness he passed down a message to the kobolds saying that level 2 kobolds no longer had immunity from fights and had to strive for heroship. Becoming a lv3 kobold would transform the kobolds into all new beasts. Though they are still in the low levels of level one to level three so the heroship isn't as strong as higher levels it still grants massive upgrades regardless.

With this new change the kobolds continued to have death battles. With the large amount of adult kobolds leveled up the fights were more intense. Another tournament was created for after the trials though clueless of what they were in reality they thought of them as trials of god.

After these trials all the kobolds would be strengthened. With the influence of Jack the tournament would occur every forty years after the trial to thin the amount of high level kobolds and potentially get dragonoids or heroes. Though this won't go until their is one kobold remaining the final number will be about twentyish.

This will allow for multiple fights increasing the chance of evolution and heroism.

Jack decided to call this tournament the tournament of ascension as this tournament will allow for the kobolds to reach new heights either through evolving gaining longer lifespan or through heroism where their lifespan will also increase tremendously.

Jack couldn't wait for this tournament as it will take place in the arena of blood though this time for greater heights than previous. Jack also wanted to invite his friends though in consideration of the last time he invited them and the fact it was being held on such short notice he decided to not invite them.
