Chapter 149: Tomorrow's Borrowed Trouble, Part 2

Katya woke up to 1930s birds singing outside her window. Lena wasn't in bed, and there was no sign of Dorothy.

Katya walked out of the room to the smells of sausage and pancakes. She followed the scent into her kitchen where she saw her younger, big sister wearing an apron, with flour spattered on her face.

"Good morning, my doll-faced sister," greeted Lena.

"Good morning. I didn't remember you cooked."

"A lot is different about me in ninety years. My hotcakes are the cat's meow. Grab yourself a chair and dig in."

"You're in a good mood," noted Katya.

"Why the heck shouldn't I be? We got to see our parents. We got the answers we've been looking for. I have you...plus mom and dad gave me a mission. I'm going to study to be one of them there time pilgrims, like you. And with Kevin and Cheryl, I'm going to change things for the future. You just see that I don't!"

"I believe you," said Katya. "I guess we do have a lot to be thankful for."
