I was a little surprised when Hudson pulled into the garage rather than dropping me off at the front door. He didn't need to come upstairs.

"Don't be ridiculous." He laughed at me. "You can't carry all those toys on your own. Not to mention, I want to say hi to Makai. I won't stay long, don't worry. I know that you have dinner plans with your friends."

"No, that's fine. You can come up. You can stay for dinner too if you want." I didn't want him to think that he wasn't welcome. I just didn't expect it, that was all. "I would be happy to have you over for dinner tonight."

"Hmm. We will see. For now though, I am just going to help you drop these off." He pulled a bag toward him and started to pile the toys inside of it. "We really did get a lot, didn't we?" He laughed nervously.
