Chameleons are one of the slower animals which is why they are ambush predators and have camouflage along with one of the fastest tongues so by the time they are seen it’s too late and the prey is already in its mouth and can’t run, so I doubt he could dodge the spiders attack. Also spiders rely quite a bit on their eye sight and have one of the best eyesights out there with full color vision that can see details at large distances, they only sense vibrations through their web and can’t do it when not in their web. But this is fantasy so I’m gonna keep reading.
