Dodder Rolls
ah. now I remember why I stopped reading this book and then started reading it again. I just couldn't get over the fact that her mother and father even though they supposedly love and dote on her abandoned her to the countryside. never even bothered to really check in with her. enough to the point that her father who comes to fetch her doesn't even know what she looks like and is surprised by her looks. for a woman who is supposedly a jinxed her family to have parents who supposedly love her it's pretty interesting that the parents throughout the entire 20 years of her life couldn't at least come to visit her on holidays or I don't know, sent her a freaking letter? It's pretty disgusting. And because I can't wrap my head around this but the author continuously glosses over it and makes it seem like they're totally great parents because they totally love her even though they ditched her and it kept distracting me from a decent story otherwise.
